This thread is kind of ironic. About one month ago I picked up a little puppy runnin down the middle of the road. I swerved to miss him and couldn't just leave him there. I think he was the runt so someone just left him.

Today I get home from work and find that just ten minutes before my girlfriend was walking our little puppy and two dogs came running at her showing teeth and barking. She was close enough to her car that she jumped in. They kept her pinned in her car until two guys could run them off.

I would kind of expect this out in the country or in a rural area, but I live in an apartment off of a main road! I was mad as hell when I found out. If they would have gotten ahold of my girlfriend or my dog I would have come unglued . If I would have been home sooner I would've killed both dogs. I know were one came from and I think I'm going to have a little talk with them tomorrow. I feel stupid now for selling my handgun, but I loaded up my 300win mag and I always have a knife on my side. That is just plain stupid

People are just plain stupid sometimes. My GF is scared to walk Diesel (the only dog, I've ever paid for) by herself for just that reason. And yeah its just something else out in the country, esp. with neighbors dogs, all that your dog is the problem stuff, while theirs runs around free and clear. while theirs jack with your cattle, dog, trucks and swine. But outside the city limits things happen.

the house we own across the road, almost 1/2 mile away, i live 1500 feet from the road, an old woman lived in and had some mangy nasty dogs she kept, well they would get loose and come over to our house, they would make it about 1/2 way across the field when my dad, as he refered to it, would "dispatch them with extreme prejudice" with his scoped .308, my dads an ex-marine sniper, we got all kinds of dogs dropped off, the best dogs ive ever had have been dropped dogs, now people are starting to pick them up when they drive by if they are cute, had 3 gone last week, we live on a 650 acre farm in south central ohio so its pretty common.
