Dump Trailer issues

Just picked up a 2007 Dump Master Doolittle 12K dump trailer. Trailer had no remote control. I hooked up a remote and only have up. Down button only clicks???

I can jump two wires from the controller together and get the trailer to power down. But when controller is hooked up correctly I only have up.????

When I hooked up a rental dump trailer (CAT rental), I had to use an adapter with a jumper in it to compensate for the difference in trailer power configurations between stock trailers and all other trailers. For some (really) stupid reason, they are different. Plug a stock trailer into a camper configured plug and the brakes lock up. With the adapter, it worked fine.

Rebal thanks for the info. I was wondering if that was the issue. The stock remote did not come with the trailer but it had three wires that where cut that went to the controller. I assumed it needed a three wire switch.
