First guy I give an A+. These are the west bound lanes. Look at the skid marks. This guy spun his truck and trailer 180deg into the ditch and kept the rubber side down.
Next guy I give an F. Laid his rig on its side, along with the derrick of the rig.

I would give them all an A+ if there where no injuries. Might give them an F if they did not or were not prepared for the road conditions or were tired etc.
Many parameters/variables play into things like this.
I bet that guy with the RV was REAL pleased that he landed how he did. Might need a new seat cover.

First off in all these pictures everybody walked away from. Next these are just a few of the things I see at work, not pics that are taken off the internet.
I guess the way I grade is that if the rubber side stays down you get a better grade. Tires in the air or damage, worse grade.
(A+) First pic is of a cement bulker, full 22 tonne, took the corner a lil tight, but kept it up right. If you look close it is only the jack post that is stopping the truck from laying on its side.
(F) Next pic is some guys messing with fireworks (that back fired) in their truck, drove into the oncoming lane, then through the ditch and ran into a the first tank of a diesel tanker B-train. (Everybody was OK).

the first pic (the GMC with training wheels)
Look closely at the back of his cab and the trailer... he jack knifed it pretty good in the process of sliding all over the road. Probably got it straightened out after he was in the ditch trying to get out.

5th wheel hitch may have ripped out...
drivers side of the box rail appears to be close to the center of the trailer.
shlen are you working up at the oil sands?
You should carry new seat covers for sale.
I had one pucker trip hauling a camper on I-94 west of Fargo ND.
Winds came up, road was ice and snow was heavy. Had a friend in front of me and a semi ahead of him. We were all communicating on the CB.
One msg was..."Left lane fast!"
we moved over...slowly and even with speeds of 30 mph the campers [empty boxes] started to slide. Got over into far left almost into the median when I could see part of a semi trailer buried in snow and 1.5 lanes blocked as we went under an overpass.
When I came out the other side the wind hit again and I was traveling sideways at around 15 mph while the trailer started to put me into a jacknife. I reacted slowly and managed to get it straight and got off the road for the night in Jamestown ND. Luckily I had used the facilities in Fargo...seat was clean.

saw two trucks in the ditches coming thru BC...a Pete pulling a set of flat bed pups...looked to have spun out going up a hill an jack knifed sliding back down....other was a log truck tipped on side in ditch...
Oh yeah, place I used to work at a bunch of older guys who have been operating wreckers for years have told me so many horror stories of fatals. Glad I always just did simple winch outs, I dont have the stomach for that stuff. But from the sounds of it, at least with those guys, you kinda become immune to it...I dunno if i could

I get a double dose of it Nick, I was on duty for the wreck and used the jaws and cutters to extricate the ones still in the vehicle. Then I go to my part time job the next morning, (towing), and set the same vehicle up in the investigation bay so we could work with the State police accident reconstruction team.
I never get immune to it, just deal with it as it happens. This one hit me hard because of the way the scene was laid out when we arrived and because of the connections of the people. Dam kids
I was working up in Ft Mac a couple of years ago. Now down in SE Sask. I got tons of pictures, seen some crazy accidents and been on more then a few hairy rides. I give my truck a pat often, for making it into location or getting me home alive. Driving is part of my job...and that's why we get paid the big bucks.

they all get "F"s for spinning wildly out of control with heavy loads and off into the ditch ...
I can't give an "A" to a driver who may have kept it upright, but went flying across the other side of the road ...
kept it upright yes, how much driver involvement was involved? ... debatable ... he got saved beause the shoulder was flat, otherwise, he's on his lid
