Double H boots

Thoughts opinions, They seem very comfortable and are american made, any cons other then the price. Tried a couple pairs on, I really liked the western work steel toe ones, and the girl at the store said they are one of the best sellers, she also told me to steer clear of rockies(made in china)(she was cute if that counts for anything).

Here was the thought process.

Saw the boots, Liked 'em

Tried 'em on, Loved 'em

Made in America, bought 'em.

Bought a pair of the square toe non steelies. Love em so much bought the steel toe version. I can get the model of em if you want, see if its the same ones.

Best work boots Ive ever owned.

Had a pair of non steel toe Rockies, (green top, combo leather, poly sole), they didnt last 6 months of workin on the farm. Never buy those again.

I have been wearing them for 10 plus years. I wear the packers lace ups. Could not find them last time I bought so I tried ariats (JUNK), finally had to order the Double H online. Takes a few days to break in but COMFY!

I have a pair of Ariat dress boots, I wear for daily wear. They are ok. Comfy, but not the best.

I really like my Lucchese's, talk about nice but def not for work.....

Ive worn Redwings, Wolverines, DocM's and the Double H's are my favorite so far.

Jallattes are excellent, light, comfy, awesome, awesome boots. Hard to find unless you end up in France, or a European owned pipelay vessel in the Gulf of Mexico....

I've worked in many boot brands and I have to agree, rockys are crappy, double h boots are crappy too tho the ones I bought I wore for about 9mths and the heel got real loose and uncomfortable. I then went with twisted x, big mistake they came apart at the inside toe after only 5months. So then I bought me some AB custom elephant hide boots, wow. They are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn without having to sacrifice durability, flexibility, or the use of paper thin leather. I've had these for 1yr and they are still going, the sole is double stiched with rubber and nylon.

I've got a pair that are at least six years old. I've had them resoled a few times but they are still in good shape otherwise and comfortable. Wore them everyday for about three years, just ocassionally now

I personally think Double H are junk. I've had 2 pairs and will never buy them again. I've got 3 pairs of Ariats, a pair of Wolverine steel toes, and a pair of Schnee's packs. Wouldn't trade any of them. Been great boots for me.

Never had the double h's, but I have had good experiences with Red Wings in the past, had my last pair for 5 years of hard work and retired them because I got tired of looking at the steel poking out of the toe, I wore the leather off in about a half dollar sized spot on both toes from crawling around setting lift arms on cars at the dealership. Had a couple of pair of wolverines, not terrible, but not my favorite either. Also had a pair of georgia boots that lasted pretty well, that was about 10 years ago though, not sure if they even make them anymore. Will not buy anything with the ariat name, made in china and there are some very good american made boots for similar money available.

My HH Wellingtons lasted me almost 3 years of casual use before the sole wore completely thru, and I loved em so much I kept wearing em for a few more months. Replaced those with a pair of Dan Posts, and really like those, only thing is the stitching that holds the leather sole on, broke after like a month, got em restitched for 15 bucks, and theyve been good ever since

I'm old and have owned every brand of boot made including some custom boots

IMHO the best bang for the buck in a western boot is Boulet which is made in Canada

From: Lingleville TX but active duty Air Force all over the world currently
Ariats made in china so i wont purchase and cant comment.

Double H is trash IMHO...mine didnt last for longer then about 2 months.

My olathes have years of abuse and hold up great (and my spurs never slip)...

I have some Rod Patricks (weatherford TX) that are excellent boots and a pair of Luchesse Full quill that I only wear on SOME special occasions that are like wearing socks.

All in all..I like the Olathes the best (for work), With the Rod Patricks if i go out dancing with the wife....
