Home sweet home! Hey, ma!

Evenin, all. Evening shift is on in full force. Found a hot tub on CL today, going to go look at it tomorrow. Anyone want to donate to the 'get MH's wife a hot tub' fund?

Went to the education office today, I was going to continue the slow and painful process of continuing with my BA, (only had 2 classes done), but I found out they offer auto mechinics and welding here! Oh, I'm in! The welding is an AA, too.

You just keep up with the learning buddy and soon enough you'll be Bad too. 2 classes is a good start.

Tell them other welders to be careful with them rods if there gonna drink and weld. The first step to recovery is admittance. Proud of ya Mark.

Ha! I know, man. It is really hard for me to get back into school, but when they said that they offer degrees for something I like... I was in!

Man, I've learned that serious/dangerous work and drinking a lot are not good things.

It is cool that they offer that kind of stuff.

One of my favorite classes when I was at UL was CAD/CNC Machining course. Lots of fun.

Welcome back Heidi!

Evening DTR. Nice weather today gave me the urge to head out to the range for a couple hours. Took the Remington 700 out and sighted in the new scope I got around Christmas time. Had a good time today at the range. Might have a new gun to start shooting soon.

I might be getting my great uncles Mauser GEW 98. The gun is not in the best of shape since the reletive that had it the last 13 yrs just tossed it in their attic but I can get back in a good working order with a little time and effort. The gun has **** stampings on the barrel that have the swastika and the german eagle. A very cool piece of history in my eyes, especially since it's been in the family ever since my great uncle came back home after ww2.

How much would yo charge to come up here and tutor me in welding for a day or two? I just had 'one of those days' today. Couldn't lay a decent bead if someone did it for me. Grinder burned out. Wrecked a torch tip using it for a hammer. Wrecked a hammer using it for a prybar. Ran over my striker. Dropped slag onto my torch hoses and put a hole in the acetylene line. (Luckily, got to the tank valve before the fire did) Broke the arbor for the hole saws and burned out 2 saws. NOT A GOOD DAY.

You have no idea the fury that would have been brought upon me if I would have committed such a heinous sin as a youngster and my old man found out.

I shudder just thinking about it.

You know, I can recall someone preaching in another thread about using the right tool for the right job. Hmmmm.......
