Probably because they're dead!

Well, I'm going to extinguish the 'dark absorbers' and get to bed early. Got to go down to Marcellus in the AM to finish up a forestry spray rig before the forester needs it this spring.

Putting in an order for oil, and such and Amsoil calls for synthetic ATF for the power steering fluid. Anyone got any input????

Evening everyone.Rainy all day here but had a productive day still. Went to my aunts picked up grandpa and his enclosed trailer and took a trip over to dads. Grandpa had alot of tools, saws, and other shop equipment in the trailer he wanted to give dad. So we unloaded it at dads polebarn today. Went to dinner with my aunt, uncle, and grandpa tonight. We went to a pizza joint near their house, the food was good!

Relaxing tonight, the wife is out for a friends birthday tonight. So it's me, the dog, and the dragon hanging out.

Ya, did some searching and infidel stated repeatedly that AFT will errode the rubber components in the pump, per the owners manual.

I was able to find Amsoil syn power steering fluid on the web sit so I will just go with that.

I have a suction pump to remove the old fluid, some have said that you can remove the drain hoses...

I don't want to waist a bunch of fluid

how do you do it?

infidel is right, just stick to a good synth PS fluid. Last time I changed my PS fluid is when my Vacuum pump seal went out and couldn't tell you what I did. It was a few yrs ago I did that.
