#1: That's a LOT of shifting. Glad I have an automatic.
#2: That driver was really working hard. Can't imagine what he would feel like after a race. Looks like he took a beating.
#3: VERY impressive driving skills. Almost as good as my wife
(just ask her).

That is a tough track to master, not just because of the narrow width but also the length. That's almost 9 miles of road you have to learn like the back of your hand. I used to do a lot of sim racing (back before I wasted all my time on diesel forums
) and I had a '60's Grand Prix sim that was very challenging just to drive the cars. I got pretty good on the shorter courses like Monaco and Silverstone but I never could learn the whole Nurburgring. It was like playing a rally sim with the co-driver turned off, you had to be ready for the hairpin just over the crest of the hill...

Never got to drive on a real asphalt track and probably couldnt handle it but in the mid 70's there was a winter track called the Ice Palace outside of Anchorage. Anybody could enter some of the (no screws or big studs) races. Top speed (for me) was about 20mph but it was a hoot. Teaches you real quick about spins and slides.
