Short version. Master bedroom standard def DVR died. Called DTV and they sent me a new HD DVR no charge Yippee! I thought. Got it installed and it works and looks great in the bedroom. Trouble is I back feed the coax to the kitchen, watching the same channel. I bought a RF antenna and remote for the kitchen set for the old DVR, new HD DVR has the antenna built in. I have the kitchen remote programmed for RF and it works but the range is terrible, less then 15' line of sight. Before I could have my bedroom door closed (upstairs) and be in my kitchen and change the channels on the bedroom DVR in the kitchen. Now I can't be 8' away with the bedroom door closed and do anything on the DVR.

Anyone know anything about how to put an antenna on a HR22 DTV HD DVR? The DTV guy on the phone had no clue. I'm willing and able to solder on a board if necessary. I wish there was an external antenna option on this DVR like the old one.
