Dial-a-Shell

Many moons ago there was a product called Dial-a-Shell. You stuffed it full of 22 Long Rifle cartridges, attached it to your belt and could dispense one cartridge at a time. I've looked high and low on the internet and called a couple of guns shops, and have not been able to find them. I'm guessing they're no longer made, nor have I found anything similar.

Does anyone here know of them or where to buy them?

Thanks!

It sounds a lot like my Butler Creek speedloader but it doesn't go onto your belt. You crank a handle and it feeds .22 shells one by one into a Butler Creek Hot Lips 25 round banana clip. I suppose if you could find a way to attach it to your belt it would work the same. Although firing a .22 one shell at a time may get old quick.

I had a buddy get shot in the behind when he slipped on a slope and landed on a rock right smack dab on the rear pocket he had a few 22 shells in. Those rim fires are dangerous as it doesn't take much of a impact anywhere on the rear end to set one off.

It wasn't too bad a wound as the shell exploded more or less with no barrel to trap the escaping gases and propel the bullet. Still he wasn't real comfortable sitting down for awhile as I recall

Thanks for the replies so far. It would not be for my use, rather the grandkids who have single shot rifles. If I can't find some, I guess they will use their pocket, front pocket that is

This looks like it may be a safe alternative for them. It's close but not the same. http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct...tnumber=249928

In the past I used a pouch that was made to carry dog treats and it just had a belt clip, it worked out perfectly. You can get them out at any Petco or Pet Smart store

Butler creek has a belt slide pouch for just this. It closes by velcro and kind of unfolds into a bin when opened so you can pick cartridges out one at a time or by the few.

I remember the one you are referring to, it was kind of like a change maker, but for .22's. I can't recall the name, though.

Just get a Calico 22 with the 100 round, round clip... Use to have a blast chasing squirrels all over the place with one of those.
