Cummins on TRUCKS! TV this weekend
Ryan, thanks for joining and welcome to DTR! Glad to have you here. I am also glad that you didn't just throw a Banks kit on the Super Dually project truck. You guys need more diesel powered projects on your show. I have one idea. You remember that Megacab that Tommy owns that you and Kevin put the Fitch Fuel Catalyst on? Well, you guys should do a longbed conversion to it. Or at least take it to one of the many shops that do those conversions and dedicate a whole episode to it showing how its done step by step. How about swapping a common rail Cummins into a '99 and newer Ford Superduty? Maybe build a diesel sled puller or drag racer or maybe a rig that could do both while still being able to daily drive it and tow with it. The point I'm trying to make is that you need more diesel powered project vehicles on the show!

Hey guys,
Our Super Dually (70's Ford body on a '97 Dodge chassis) is back in the shop this weekend for some engine and trans upgrades and repairs. We do the typical engine add ons, kill the KDP, install a HD clutch and address the 5th gear nut.
Check it out if you get the chance. Let me know what you think.

Thanks for all the kind words about the show, we're glad you liked it. This won't be the last you see of the Super Dually. Kevin and I will bring it back next year and try to finish up the body work and get it up and running. We will probably do a few more mods to increase power but we don't plan on getting too carried away with it as we do plan on using this as the TRUCKS! tow rig and it needs to be tame enough for any of our guys to hop in and drive. Maybe we can pick up another diesel to "get stupid" with.
Out of curiousity what would you guys rather see, a diesel drag truck or a sled pulling type truck or something else?
Ha! We don't even use a script! We do know what we are going to say when the cameras are turned on but we don't read from a script. If I talked like I did in my own garage you'd have to bleep too many words.
I hear what you are saying though and I'll keep it in mind. Thanks.
Amen. E-mail Spike and tell them that. I have never understood that either.

I am on a few different forums and the thing I hear the most about "Trucks!" is how the hosts seem to amped up all the time. Just thought I'd pass that on.

Yes very good. I watched it last night and I too am happy that you didn't throw a power kit in. I love my 04 cummins for the click and fly power but when you guys do a show in it seems a little blahs. Maybe explain why its making the power? Like the outside the box thinking on fliping the exhaust over. Maybe explain why the fuel plate afe more power like you did with the rpm springs. And for future shows. As long as its not plug this in and watch it go it would be great. Thanks for all your knowlage though!
Seriously if it was on a Sun monday or tuesday night everyone would watch it

Hey Ryan,
Some suggestions I would like to throw out there.
A good mix of older 12 valve stuff and newer common rail stuff.
You did a great job IMO on the last show to explain what you were doing and I also like how you did what most low budget guys can do. You didn't throw $1000 of Banks stuff at it like other shows seem to always do.
As for the common rail engines, don't just throw a box on (or programmer) and say "See how much you gained" Explain how it increases the power and other supporting mods needed.
If you have dyno time, I know A LOT of people would love to see some different air intake combos on a stock or even modified truck compared, to see the difference in gains.
As far as what type of truck to build, I would rather see a high power drag truck that is still capable of being a daily driver and, tow a camper or trailer on the weekends. Similar to many of the trucks you read about on this site.
Don't be a stranger here!! I'm sure you are a busy guy, but post up when ever you can and also WELCOME to DTR

I was wondering why ya'll have the powerblock on Saturday afternoon, most people that are into that stuff are doing those exact things during those shows, At least show the reruns some other time than Sunday, at least Sunday evening, if it wasn't for my DVR I would never be able to see those shows, and there are alot of people who don't get to see them that would like to. I know you have the programming spots to slip them into, just swap with one of the many CSI's somewhwere in there, surely the Powerblock would get some boosted rating from a better timeslot.
Thanks
Chris
Thanks
Chris
btw, no monday (monday night high octane of the outdoor channel) and No wednesday (MidwayUSA's Wednesday night at the range). any weekday show would have to be either primetime or evening.
