Cpt. Phil Harris died

I just read online that Captain Phil Harris of the Discovery Channel's "Deadliest Catch" has passed away from complications of a stroke.

Sad News, He was my favorite.

Rest in Peace, Captain Phil.

A much as I liked that guy I'm not surprised.. The human body was not designed to run on cigarettes and Redbull.

RIP

Watching him smoke like a chimney and slam Redbulls one after another, it was kinda like watching a train wreck in slow motion. You KNEW he was headed for a heart attack or stroke, it was just a matter of time.

Prayers for his family and friends......

That's true Lary, but he lived his life the way HE wanted to. I'll bet he enjoyed most every minute of it. Did he maybe have some regrets? I am sure as everybody does. He made a life for himself, raised a couple of boys who work hard, play hard and seem to be all around good guys. He was successful in business and he was admired as a father.

Can't ask for much more than that.

RIP Phil, Three bells for ya.

I was particularly struck by the episode when he was hospitalized for bleeding lungs and he actually sneaked out of the hospital to smoke a cigarette.
Thought perhaps it was just a trumped up scene to make good TV, but evidently cigarettes actually ruled his life.

Life is the choices we make.

RIP Phil

He and Sig have been my favorites. I could see this coming like most others. I wonder how this will affect his sons smoking habits? Who will take over the boat?

Another 20-30 yrs of good health from not smoking would be a great request.
The guy really looked miserable to me most of the time.
Don't get me wrong, I liked him and admired his abilities but he was doin himself in one smoke at a time!!

Only the chance to be come an admired Grandfather as well I am not ******* on him so please do not take it that way. I just think it is sad that a guy would let his Nicotine and Caffeine addictions destroy his life like that.

I just attended one of my best friends funerals about 10 days ago, he smoked more than anyone I know and throat cancer took him, really a sad thing to watch happen.
