Confessions of a CTD owner: I love the new Honda Civic

There. I said it.

The first time I saw the new style Civic, I had a "What's THAAAAT!" kind of moment. I'm not one to notice or really care much about styling, but-- WOW that's a HOT CAR.

So I was at a Honda dealer and I actually sat in one. The interior on it inspires in me automotive lust. Everything about it just pushes a button in me-- makes me feel connected to the car.

Of course, the Si is the version that's my huckleberry. I personally don't care that it's not fast nor super mpg or anything else that's special.

It's completely irrational, and I can't quite explain it. But I REALLY like the new Civics. Anyone with me?

(insert crickets chirping here)

They aren't going to take away my CTD now, are they?[nonono]

You just can't go wrong buying a Honda. [coffee]

I guess I'll have to issue an infraction for "Lack of brand Loyalty" or something.

You right, I meant the civic, simply for its reliability.

Man Law #371... NEVER talk about a preppy car on a Diesel Truck website...
[laugh]...

If it makes you feel good, great! I bet that freak gets great MPG...

You'll just end up bombing it anyway...

I think the Civics are too small. However, I didn't put up much of a fight when the Mrs. fell in love with the Accords.

Unless it's their "truck"

I am not a car guy at all, but the new Civics are pretty nice...

What are you thinking? [nonono]

I bought a Honda Fit last year. While it is not a Civic nor does it have the styling it has so far done exactly what I wanted it too. Gets me from point A to point B (albeit not in style) and it does it with 40mpg and in relative comfort. I have driven nothing but a truck for so long (20+ years) I had forgotten how easy a small car is to drive around in the city. I still drive the truck roughly 15k a year but the Fit also gets a workout of about 15k a year. And it sure is nice to fill up for $25.00. So while it may ding your manhood a bit and you may drive with a hat, dark sunglasses and your collar turned up just as high as you can get it so as not to be recognized by anyone you know, after a time that goes away and you just dont care. As you slowly realize that it takes a real man to drive one of those sissy mobiles. You have to be secure in your manhood to even sit in one. OK OK that is what I tell myself anyway each morning as I pull out of the driveway. And anyone who says anything I can always tell them my other car is a CDT.

By the way how is it going there in the Aloha State?

Those new SI's are PIMP.. my bother in law has the new 4 door version:cool:
the interior on it is sooooo sweet I love the seats and the soft material they use.
The even have a nice rumbley stock exhaust system that does NOT sound like a pack of mad bees taking off from a stop light..
I'm with you:cool:

It's going well, here. I'm yearning for the Rockies, though. The whole "paradise" thing is overrated.

I'm also looking at a Fit. I happen to think they are nifty little cars. I can't believe how TINY the engine is-- there's TONS of space to work on it, even with a small underhood area.

I'm shopping for these because were are moving to CO, and I may have to commute to a job that allows us to live there-- hence I might have to part with the CTD:( Then again, if it's paid for, fuel costs look pretty cheap, eh?

Anyway, the Civic is just my huckleberry of small cars. That, and the Lancer Evo 8, but I'm not paying $36K for a commuter!

The mpg difference between the Civic and the Fit isn't really as large as I expected it to be-- I suspect the civic had better aerodynamics which help out the hwy numbers a lot.

Glad to hear the Fit delivers-- I was impressed with its space and comfort when I sat in it.
