I concure! This AVG is awesome. My computer is running faster, pages load quicker, and the computer turns on quicker. And this is all in the past 24 hrs of using it.

If it is Norton Internet Security try and disable the firewall and it should work again. If you are behind a router you will have to assign which ports to allow.
One of my clients does this at least once a month and I get a good service call for it. NIS checks the system and lets you know with a pop up that it is not enabled and if you click it, you loose your internet and intranet.
Maybe it is the same problem.
