Everything is USB 2.0, AFAIK. I have not tried different cables , because this is a fairly special cable , i wouldn't think it likely to find one anywhere.

I am going to take it back to the place i got it and see what happens, but i doubt they are gonna do much for me , i got it from futureshop (futureshop = circuit city)

I beleive the softare and GPS has been covered , in the first post , but it is microsoft streets and trips 2006 with the microsoft (manufactured by pharos) GPS. It is purchased as a packaged deal.

Edit , i will try the pharos site tomorrow evening , i'm pressed for time right now.
