Chrysler Pacifica???

I've found some really good buys on these lately and they seem to be just what the wifey wants...3rd row seats, sporty looks, etc. Plus its not considered a SUV so ins. is cheaper. Any input on it?

Have a friend with one. It's a really nice car but he says the parts are insanely expensive. Said it has alot of Mercedes parts on it.

My mom drives an 05 Pacifica and she loves it. Not sure on the parts being expensive, she has 65000 on it and has only had to do oil changes, brakes, etc.

With all the back seats in use there is ZERO room for just about anything in the back. Can barely see out the rear window.Check them out with all the seats up in the rear.Rob.PS I used to work at a chrysler dealer for 15 years, saw plent off them.

i own one its a 04 they have a few tsb's on the PTU (power train unit) basically a transfer case on the awd's mine was replaced at 60,000 miles. if it clicks when shifting from foward to reverse its going! the 3.8l version is a dog get a newer 4.0l. lumbar support on seat stopped working, gas gauge goes from 1/4 tank to empty instantly. random plastic crap in the interior breaks, the tires on mine are a special size and cost $200 ea. but the car is loaded with every avail feature and the wife likes it so... just check out the service records and see what tsb's it has. buy dodge certified if used and pay extra for the BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY you will need it... casey

Yes, the PTU's do go out in the early models. I haven't done one in months at our shop to be honest. Another thing that WILL go out is the motor mounts. There will be a vibration and you will feel the engine shifting forward. Watch for that. The 4.0L in the 07 & 08's is actually a strong running motor. Coupled with AWD, they are a pretty fun vehicle to drive. I'd recommend them. Too bad they discontinued them
