When I first saw it I thought it'd be a nice truck.
Actually it's a car with a big trunk!!
GMC did the same thing with the Cyclone, a hot rod turbo truck with zero towing capacity!!
At least the Cyclone has a hot engine, the SSR's engine is nothing to write home about!!
It's a boulavard cruiser & that's about it.
At least when Dodge makes a spl edition truck it has some muscle behind it like the Little Red Express truck & the Viper Ram!!

Yeah, the Cyclone wouldn't tow much but she was a real red lighter for sure.
The engine in the one SSR I saw didn't sound like much but I'm sure there's parts for it though.
Really big trunk....

I think they look sharp.
But this is the reason we are targeted by the EPA and green folks, it can't really haul like a truck but is labeled as one to get around the emissions tests.
In my opinion, to be clasified as a truck it should have an 8 foot bed . Period.
To many people buy trucks for general transportation .
Don't jump at me too quickly!!
There needs to be a mid level between truck and car.
Go count the empty trucks going down the road- 60% i bet.
This really upsets the balance for those of us who need a work truck.
Of course most of these 60% don't know it but they buy them for rear wheel drive and safety.

It's a limited edition show truck. It was never intended to haul anything in the bed or tow a trailer. The people that buy that truck do so in hopes that it will increase in value 20-30 years down the line. To me, there isn't enough fun-factor built in to justify the 50,000 price tag. For that money I would buy a Z06 Vette or the Dodge SRT-10. I'd consider 30-35 grand, but not 50.
