I'm sure there are plenty of chevy/gms trucks that have over 200k on them. My mom had an old 92 GMC 5.7L that had 160k on it and the engine and tranny were in great working order. The only problem she was having was with the electrical system.

With those full size GMs, the problems wasn't the engine or tranny, it was the rest of the truck. I had a friend with a 97 1500 w/ 350, 98 Suburban w/350, and 97 3500 w/ 454 and the interiors and other aspects of the trucks were falling apart. They still ran ok.

I hope and pray our Yukon XL goes over 200K. It has 21K now, so it will be a while before we join the club. 6.0L + 4L80E = ????

Well Dodge should have a million mile club and they will have twice as many as Chevy 200k club.

My dad had a 1993 chevy 2500

light duty, five speed, extended cab long box. He sold that truck with over 320K on the clock, and that truck is still going around town! original 350 when he sold it....

HIs current chevy 2500, is over 150K and again no problems. this one is 4wd tho.. Still going strong...

If i was gonna buy a gas engine truck it would be a chevy for sure...

My buddy has a 92 suburban with almost 350,000 miles on the original 454 and tranny. Drives it like a bat outta hades and it used to tow trailers constantly. No work other than basic maintenance.

I just started my old 5.7l '89 Chevy yesterday after it sat in my garage since October. It fired right up like I had driven it yesterday. I love that ride! The big problem with it is after sitting for along period of time, the torque converter slowly drains back into the pan filling it up past the linkage bushings, and the ATF leaks out.

Had a '90 C1500 with the 5.7 in it and it had over 272,000 on it when I sold it in '03.

Had to replace a few items but nothing major: water pump, EGR valve, a couple of alternators, a couple of batteries and an injector.

The kid I sold it to is still running it as far as I know.

The Chevy 5.7L is a good motor. To bad GM had to put the weak 700R4 behind it. Mine crapped out at 70k miles.

I know the feeling!
My old '85 GMC with the 305 had 400k++ on it(odometer quit) and it was still running well. I just couldn't afford to keep replacing that 700R4. 3 trannies between 250K and 350K. That original tranny was a good'un though...
Ran across this '97 CTD and I jumped on it.

My Chev trucks had good motors, lousy transmissions, and the statement about the bods is right - - they all rusted out terrible. Biggest problems I had was with the pickups with the 454 - - for some reason the rear tires would not keep their tread. Wonder what my guys were doing with them???
