Brrrrrrrrrrr !
Golly miss molly it's cold in Spokane this mornin'! So cold im' gonna wait awhile to start my truck.......-3 when I got up (feels like -15)
! I don't have the opportunity to plug in so I guess I will wait on the sun. :
Can someone tell me if my grid heaters are enough at this temp......maybe cycle 2x? What about the #2 Diesel? Will it gel at this temp? They should be blending up here by now....
Thank Ye' !

Re:Brrrrrrrrrrr !
Cycle the grid heaters two times and fire her up.
Stay off the loud pedal for a couple of minutes to allow the oil/Molassas? to start circulating around inside the engine.
If you've got an auto tranny, let it idle in neutural for a minute or so before putting it in drive.
If you're close to your extension cord, plug it in while it warms up.

If I did not live in an apartment I would give her some juice (4th floor apt.) >
Oh yeah, and that muffler would have been GONE awhile back.....see..... her back end, when I back in, is about 10 feet from my neigboors bedroom window......
I leave fer' work at 6am....
That's o.k........he/she drive Fords!

T-shirt and shorts today... its 3 degrees this morning!
I now park the truck in the shop. This makes starting up in the morning pretty easy.
But once I get to work, I have to park outside due to my truck being too tall to fit in the parking garage. :
Starting the truck after work hasnt been any problem... yet.
But I do let sit and high idle for about 5 to 7 minutes before I drive it.

If you don't run #1 Diesel in truck at sub-zero temps, you should use an anti-gel additive. #2 Diesel increases in viscosity as temp decreases and will lose its ability to flow, becomes like jello. #1 Diesel is a lower viscosity Diesel fuel. It is sold in areas during the winter where sub freezing temperatures are common, areas like Northern States and Canada.

Look here for more info about grades of diesel fuel
http://www.astm.org/cgi-bin/SoftCart....htm?E+mystore
And here
http://www.wetestit.com/diesel.htm
DIESEL FUEL
No. 2 Diesel Fuel is often referred to as ‘summer grade’ and No.1 Diesel Fuel as “winter grade” as it is lighter (less oily and has less lubricating qualities.) Other types of diesel fuels are: Jet A, turbine fuels, heavy fuel oil and marine bunker oil. Industry use is varied from standby power systems, commercial over-the-road trucks, industrial applications, ship / marine use.
Properties specified for the varied grades, such as: Grade No. 1-D, Grade No. 2-D, Grade No. 4-D are also tested.

Ack, -3? Please send your warm weather up here. -20F yesterday, and -17 this morning. On the plus side, the old Cummins will fire up just fine by cycling the grids a couple times.

Yep- Them pesky Canuks can't keep that cold weather to themselves. They like to push the cold air into Montana just to show how much they like their neighbors to the South
So, please don't send any more cold weather "down" here- It's allready getting old

Guess the northern folks left the gate open. Looks like the cold front passed thru here about 45 minutes ago. The temperature has dropped 17 degrees in 45 minutes, from 72 to 55. At this rate, I'll have to get a fire going before the wife and daughter get back from church. Looks like a mid 20 low for tonight and tomorrow night and then back to the fall weather.
