bringing reloading equipment through canada

I will be going through canada to move back to Alaska mid april, can I bring all my reloading stuff in? I figure long gun stuff is probally fine, but what about handgun stuff? I don't want to get to the border and have to throwout a bunch of brass, lead and die's. Who knows, they could think I ll set up shop somewhere and sell illegal ammo.

You have to drop it all off here in Oregon on the way through.

I think if you check with our customs offices, theres a way to carry it as sealed goods and once you get to the port of entry for AK, you stop at the canuck side and they remove the seal and update that you left with all that you came in with.

I had to do that one time into the USA. Had to deal a trailer while I took a shortcut over to Ontario. Stopped at the US side on the way out, scanned the bar code, had a quick look inside and away I went. Canuck and US side do communicate about all this on their systems because I was asked coming into Canada if I had the seal! I handed it to them. Nothing but a metal strip that slipped through the latch on the trailer and then crimped. I had to surrender the remaining parts and it was verified by the bar code.

I am not sure about the reloading equip but I can tell you to ship your weapons to yourself C/O of someone else up there if need be. It is legal for you to ship your own weapons to yourself, from State to State. This law is used quite frequently by Hunters that book Hunts with guides in other States and allows them to have their firearms waiting when they get there.

Isnt it though? Its like the Gov't doesnt realize that the criminals dont obey the laws! Its BRUTAL HERE! My best bud is an officer in the military and he cannot even carry when off duty. Whats up with that?

I wont be bringing any powder or live handgun rounds in, just a few boxes of 338 and 30/30 for my rifles Im bringing. I was just on the Canadian gov. website, it doesn't state anything about reloading or handgun ammo. You never know though, Ive have border cops be pretty difficult in the past.

What are the gun laws in Canada as to carrying one in a vehicle? I might have some work in Canada this summer and I usually carry some kind of weapon in my vehicle when traveling. Can guns be loaded? What about something like a snake charmer .410?

I've been involved in mutable types of shooting competitions since the early 60s , [ and my problem is not having a short attention span ] = seeing whats been going on [ a theme ] over the yrs.
Many gun people talk in such a way , as to give the impression that if this or that happens they are going to take our guns away , and that's not all bad a few well known laws get stopped .
But over time many are passed that have already taken many away , and the general populace is brain washed [ even the pro-gun groups ] into thinking & talking about guns as sport/hunt items , that with that mind , its OK to let this or that law pass , losing the original concept of the 2nd Amendment , having firearms to keep ourselves free .
I saw a video about a week ago , where this women was testifying in front of congress , and the last time was very telling , I thought I saved the link but do not remember where .
Now closer to the subject at hand .
In the last ten yrs. or so , in the competitions we had many Canadians coming down to play / compete , in order for them to bring there guns with them [ nothing ever mentioned about the gun related none gun items ]
They had to make declarations to manly the Canadian government , but also the US , many months in advance [ it may have been 6 or more months ] with all travel plans , destinations on and on .
It got to the point that there were so many restrictions , that it made if vertically impossible .
So never let any law ever pass , because that is the end result .
" Shall not be infringed " plain language , no law what so ever .

If you try to cross the border with a firearm, say goodbye to it and be prepared for them to NOT allow you to cross the border.

Once you get the red X on your name at the border, its a pain for the rest of your life.
