The other day the local grocery store had all there seafood on sale for $7.99 a pound, so had the wifey pick-up some lobster and jumbo shrimp to BBQ up tonight. I've never BBQ Lobster before. Anybody got any suggestion/receipts? How about the shrimp, any different flavoring/seasoning? Thanks Tye

I usually do mine in the oven using the broiler. I split the tail down the top and then lift the meat out and let it sit on top of the shell. I brush with garlic butter and broil for about 8 minutes for a 6 oz tail. The big trick for any seafood is to not cook it too long. Just until the meat turns opaque.
My Weber cookbook says to place tails with the meaty side up over direct/high heat and grill 5-6 min for 5 oz. and 10-12 min for 10 oz. or until just opaque. To do the shrimp, put in foil and grill 2-5 min. until they turn pink.
Bon Appetit

It's a little overcast down here this morning but it should burn off. Yesterday was absolutely beautiful.

Hmmm.... Well, as a purist from Maine, I don't get frozen lobster tails, only live lobsters. Then steam 'em live, crack 'em open, dip in butter and enjoy!!

Steam Em, Steam Em, Steam Em. Red Lobster can't do any business with the locals in Maine because they seem to want to do everything but Steam Em!!

why would you need a sunny day to BBQ? I have stood over my grill with an umbrella more times than I can count

I know it's too late, but next time get your Q started with charcoal... After all the coals turn white, use some sort of fruit wood, apple pear or peach wood on the coals. Take lobster and brush on melted garlic butter spiked with a flavored brandy. As far as shrimp, take a jalapeno pepper, cut in half and de-seeded. fill pepper with cream cheese place shrimp in cheese and wrap entire thing in thinly sliced bacon. Skewer 5 or 6 on a bamboo skewer and place on pit. Shrimp are done when bacon is done. Also you can liberally shake on lemon pepper on shrimp beforehand..... NOW I AM HUNGRY!!

I'm late to, but for shrimp, make a bowl out of aluminum foil and put the shrimp in it. Add 5 or 6 big spoonfuls of butter, throw some sliced jalapenos in there (the amount you throw in determines the flavor) and throw it on the grill until they are cooked. That makes for some good shrimp.

Thanks for the help guys. Heres what I did. I melted a cube of butter, added a teaspoon of garlic, 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil, 1/2 teaspoon of lemon oil, wrapped them in aluminum foil, cooked 5-6min on one side, flipped, 5-6min again, the flavoring was excellant. The shrimp I put on some screwers with onion, squash and zuccinni, cooked for the same amount of time, mouth watering.
