Im doing a research paper and it says Rudolf Diesel got a concept to make a motor and it says that the motor just brings in air and compresses it to about 200 bar. What does bar mean in that? ??? ???TIA<br>SD03

Re:Bar????

Bar: A unit of pressure equal to 1,000,000 Dynes / cm2 , 0.99 atmospheres. A measurement of pressure, 100kPa = 1 bar. This corresponds very closely to 1 atmosphere and the two are often confused. 1 bar = 14.504 psi. 1 atmosphere = 14.7 psi.

Re:Bar????

BarG is what the rest of the world uses to measure pressure instead of PsiG. I work with guys from all over the world and they gave me the simple way to convert. Add a 0 then 1/2 again as much. It's pretty close and I don't have to use my fingers and toes or a calculator. ???

There's a neat little program called &quot;Convert.exe&quot; available here. Download Convert It's freeware. It converts pretty much anything you can think of.
