Bad Things Really Do Come in Threes
So last night I finally got my B&W hitch installed and I noticed it sits really close to my toolbox so I hooked up to my GN horse trailer for a test run. (I probably would've hooked up just to see how it pulled anyway
) So as I turned out of my driveway the trailer plug cord hooked on the jack lever and ripped the plug out and destroyed the female end on the truck.
...... So then as I am coming back from dropping some tools off to a friend I go to make the turn into my driveway I was watching the front of the trailer (I was worried about the hitch tube hitting the toolbox) and hit the edge of the ditch and pipe under my driveway ripping off the rear running board from the trailer.
But that's not the worst of it. We decided to go for a four wheeler ride to sorta take the edge off (Nothing else could go wrong
) and my beautiful bride of one month and 3 days rammed the fourwheeler ramps into the tailgate of the truck
Well its all material, right?
So does any one know how to fix an 18" long scratch in a tailgate?

Paint
Well as I just got married I really can't afford to have it painted. I was wondering if I can use touch up paint and buff it, or am I stuck with having a big line of paint across the tailgate?
Is the scatch to the base coat???If it is you could get some base paint(color code to your truck) and dab a small amount to the scatch but not to much, just enough to color the scatch...Let dry then dab a small amount of clear coat over the base.Once dry sand with 2000 grit sandpaper and buff. You may have to dab a second coat of clear if its below the orginal clear..This is how I've been fixing my stone chips...Takes time but it works..

I hear ya. First day I got my B&W GN installed, I loaded up the trailer...wanted to try it out right? Well this was a new hitch to me and I hadn't got it "locked" so to speak. Pull away and the trailer pops off the ball and dented the bedside of the truck pretty good. Truck was 2 months old too
This is why I have a flatbed

She felt really bad. When she did it she just whent silent and started to cry. I couldn't get angry with her
besides I already messed up the trailer before this happened.
I've used the paint pens on rock chips before just never on something this big and noticeable before.
