Backhoe question

My wifes uncle has a Massey Ferguson model 304 ser #JDA11375106 and the brakes don't work. He is going to let me use it but I don't want to with the brakes bad. I went today to look at it and the master cyl is shot (piston is gone and it's all rusted) and it is missing one of the actuators on the real axle, and the other one seems like it is frozen. My question is where can I find replacement parts or could I just build pivot set up from the brake pedal back to the levers in the rear housing that activate the brakes. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure you should be able to get Massey parts at any AGCO dealer. JD dealers are really good about being able to get parts for other makes too, they might need a part number to cross reference though.

Ryan,

I'm a little rusty on my Massey industrial tractors, but it should be similar to either a 135 or 165 farm tractor and the brakes should be mechanical disc. Are the brakes on the outboard side of the axle or inboard side?

Mike I believe they are inboard at least that is what it seems like. Do you know someone in the area that may have or be able to get the hydraulic brake parts.

It says they are doing maintanance on the site at the moment, but try to get in touch with the local Agco dealer. I can't remember who we do business with, but I've never had any problems getting parts for our 165.
