Attention Pirates. When The United States Navy arrives on scene remember that the SEalS are a part of the USN. When pirating and you see a US warship arrive it is in your best interest to surrender and give up any hostages to preserve your miserable lives.

A big high five to our service men and women for thwarting a takeover and possible death of a US citizen. And to the President for authorizing the operation!

Of course the AP had to go interview more pirates on the matter. At least they gave they're future intentions, so there will be no mistake when we skip the negotiation step at the next conflict.

Go Navy. I have to give it to the Pres on this one. I figured he'd skate around it and wind up let'em go but he authorized force a couple of days ago...maybe there's hope yet.

 

He had to put an end to it before people started useing it to benefit 2nd amendment rights arguements...

 

While I am not a fan of the current administration, I certainly appreciate the attitude and approach the president used here.

What took so long? Politics I'm sure.. Glad to hear Obama threw the Skipper some mercy. Why aren't we doing some 20mm target practice on the pirate vessels that were coming to aid the lifeboat? Why do we give 2 EDIT about what Somalia thinks? Blackhawk down??? Howabout if all your govt. backed- scum-ridden high seas pirates take a briney drink in Davey Jones locker long before they board a legitimate freighter...

I get so frustrated and ****** about this pirate thing that I sometimes foam at the mouth over it.

240 hostages still kept, and everyone waits for the big bullies the US to help them, then ridicule the US. I am not sold that Obama had anything to do with this. He had his head in the sand pretty deep at 14 news conferences, now it is the AP stating he gave two orders. yeah right. Hillary laughed at the situation? what is up with that? pirates with millions of dollars? let see who is providing them weapons, eh?

In a way I feel for the pirates. Before you flame here me out. they come from easily one of the worst places on the planet. That place has been facing famine for years, constant warfare between competing warlords. I don't imagine many of those people can read, their ignorance is used to manipulate.
Being a pirate is probably a pretty cool option for a young man with no hope of nothing less than a miserable existence. That being said, I still support our full retaliation. Im glad it worked out.

 

I kind of agree with you there. I'm glad they are dead now but when you live in the armpit of the world with absolutely no hope I guess this is one way to have a small chance at getting your hands on some $$$. The downside is if you get caught and possibly die. Probably still a better option than living in Somalia....

I salute the NAVY SEALS and all our servicemen for their efforts.
