Anyone from Texas Work in the Oil Patch?
this is what we use to driill with up here ... a sister rig nabors 59 is in fortmac firebag... now i dont know about texas but this here is BIG IRON . topdrive diesel electric, iron rough necks it even moves from well to well on a pad .... i built this rig but i can also make it turn to the right. we are slated to keep on pushing them out two at a time . that being said it has slowed somewhat here too but not that much
I thought a big rig had a PRS, PLS, PS 30s, and anchor chains or 30,000 HP thrusters. What is that derrick rated for? When we ran long string on this well our hook load was 1.6 million and this is a small rig. Yes, I know, there is a big difference in offshore and land rigs. Cheers, Ed B
cheers and if you ever get up this way pm me the first round is on me

Im from the Panhandle and most my friends work in the patch. They said it is slow and by slow I mean they are shutting down rigs, services, shops, and all. Not looking all that bueno up north.
not to get in a pissing contest but i have drilled 7200 meters with a joy stick no brake handle not many can say that. this rig has 3 3512 tt cats a 3000hp electric drawworks, 1000ton topdrive, 10000psi stack, 2 1600hp pumps. its a total cadillac. so unless your on hibernia it can part pipe or hydraulic out of the hole just the same as most semi subs and all jackups. but i can smoke and drink and fight off tower and i know thats not the case offshore
cheers and if you ever get up this way pm me the first round is on me
