Any New Holland Tractor Owners??

I'm "this" close to buying a New Holland TZ24 4wd "Boomer" with a loader and mowing deck. Any of you guys use New Holland? Opinions are appreciated. BTW, I looked at Kubota, but didn't like the pricing or terms.

Sorry... Not an owner but I have run a few......

They seem ok I guess. The few drawbacks I found were
1. they tended to be quite noisy as compared to the competition
2. They seemed somewhat primitive in their design, (although quite rugged)
3. The controls seemed fairly far out of reach. Maybe not such an issue on the boomer.

Apart from that they seemed very decent.

The Kubotas are really handy agile machines, but I don't think they are as robust as the New Holland. The Kubota I ran also had a ridiculously small fuel tank and poor wiring.

I did find the Kubota to have lots of low end lug and grunt which surprised me.

My Neighbour has a small Deere he uses to clean out his barn.. I'd say it is about 2 years old??
It's aprox 25 H.P, I don't know the model number but I could find out.

He traded a Case IH model, comparable tractor that was probably 10 years old and had close to 5,000 hours on it. (and he works the little thing everyday)

Unfortunately the Deere has been absolutely nothing but a headache for him..

He's trading again and going back to a Case IH unit.

One of my best friends runs a Landscaping company he uses a compct Deere tractor/backhoe unit. (32 h.p) he's getting rid of it as well as a result of the trouble he's had with it.

I can tell you that I have not operated a Boomer before, they look cool though, but I can say I have had Two Kubotas, and still have the second one. They are tough tractors. One thing to consider is resale value. In my area if a Kubota comes up for sale its gone in a hurry. My $.02 There is another thread about Kubotas you might want to look for it. Also dont forget Kubotas are used in Bobcats also, they have to be tough.

I have a New holland 33 hp same tractor IH selles just different paint. The tractor is under powered my old 1000 ford would pull it backwards, the hydro sucks a lot of power I would have gone standard if I had to do it over.It has a three speed hydro and the only gear you use is first,it will not pull up a hill in second or pick up a load of dirt with the loader so I shift all the time any how.The brakes are unuseable on the hydro unless you have two right feet, this is my biggest *****.Try taking a sharp turn left our right useing turning brakes, when you try running loader in tight spots this makes it hard. The tires are junk the fronts are allwayes flat, they are so thin I have had straw stubble go through them. The safety switches are always messing up witch is a real pain.I have had trouble with the pump to, the rack stuck, if you don't have a good dealer don't buy one.The PTO power is good wish they could get it to the tires.Fuel tank and filter are to small the cap suckes in dirt.I was not that impressed with the John Dear the guyes around here are having a lot of rear end and trans problemes. If I had it to do over and might anyhow I would get the Kubota they seem better built.Good luck on what ever you get my old 1000 has been great it is a 74 and has given me very little troulble with some very hard use.I run a 5 ft tiller behind it and have even run a 7 ft flail mower behind it.My buddy told me it was 5 ft and sold it to me with out me looking at it.The tractor handled it a lot better than you would think as long as you put 100lbs on the front.

I appreciate your comments. The New Holland comes with a Japanese 3 cyl. diesel, not Yanmar, so I don't know how good it is. It appears nicely made though. I'll take another look at the Kubota's. I have a co-worker trying to coax me into looking at Century. It has a diesel that's made in South Korea. It would seem to me that it would have no resale value what-so-ever.

On the model I'd be interested in, it would be a Kukje (never heard of it). Apparently, Cummins and Kukje have some kind of a partnership to build small diesel engines. I don't know much beyond that though.

I agree the Kubotas do seem to have a high resale.... Always something to consider.
With that however, there is a higher purchase cost as well.

Personally I would stay away from the hydrostats, expensive to fix and robs power from a low horse power unit to begin with.

I may be wrong but aI had a friend complain that you could not remove the loader from his compact Kubota???? (or atleast not easily)

It would be great if you could get a few of the dealers to let you demo the machine so you know what your getting into.
