Angry people

My job often takes me out. This means I get to spend much time behind the wheel. With the spending season upon us, I've noticed the increase of road rage. Not only that, but also in the way people drive. In and out of lanes, right up on your rear, and they way they try to cut a fast light only to race up to the next signal. Dangerous? Heck yeah. Scary? Every day I watch these morons come within inches of ending their lives and taking someone else's with them. With as heavy as my truck is, I'd be a fool to even think about trying to keep up with them. I just keep to the right and watch them wizz by. I couldn't imagine driving a little compact sardine can type of car. The kind that folds up like a Pringels Potato Chip can. And the look on their faces..... They all look so angry. What a way to live. It must really suck to be them.

Sometimes "roadrage" is a blanket statement. The moron that gets angry because the person in front of them isn't exceeding the speed limit as much as they want them to is, in my opinion, roadrage and is wrong. The guy that wants to drag the idiot out of his car and wants to teach him some manners that cuts in and out of traffic, while taking everone's life in their hands, is not guilty of roadrage. Maybe if more people would do that, we would have a more polite society. Of course I am a Neanderthal. Rich

Its out there... Wednesday night a friend and I were on our way home (we live a few blocks from each other) after a class.. going down the freeway he was a few cars in front of me.. At an interchange I saw a bunch of cars slowing down.. He had about 5 car lenghts in front of him and slowing.. 2 Cars cut in front of him and slammed on their brakes.. Well that took up his space and he wound up hitting the back of a ford explorer.. Those little toyota's don't hold up to well when they drive under a bumper..

Good thing is everyone is OK.. Except for the security guard who pulled in front of the Explorer and then claimed to be part of the accident and now has a back injury.. I am just glad that I was 5 cars back and saw the whole thing.. CHP has it as the Exploer's fault for an unsafe lane change and the Security guard.. well he will be under investigation for several crimes...

That's one of the reasons I quit driving trucks down there and moved here...the Hate and Discontent was making me a very angry person, that was almost 10 years ago...by the way I wake up smiling now.

One thought is they are already angry? or frustated with their life, and all it takes is a minor annoyance to bring it to surface. I agree, it seems to have gotten worse last few years.

My .02...I've never seen traffic fighting like heck to get around someone doing at least the speed limit, nothing like some jerk driving 10-20mph under the limit for no other reason than he don't feel like doing the limit.
If they arent in a hurry why not pull over and let the rest go?
I've been the guy trying too hard to make time....I've given up on that, takes a toll.
The ppl that you all see that look so mad, they just aint learned to go with the flow yet

I wonder if this might be the case where the kid got killed for egging the Jeep?

Was it a "Squat"? Typical injury insurance fraud? Anyway back to the subject, people drive like idiots. These fast and furious cars out there don't realize what they are doing. I think alot of people fail to realise that my truck alone weighs 8800 lbs, plus a camper shell, and my fat edit. So if their 2000 lb piece of fiber glass want's to cut me off, they risk quite a bit.

I'm just secure in the fact that my rig will leave an indellible impression on whomever tries to invade my space while on the road! Speed up, slow down, but stay out of my space while you're driving.

Rollover Pete did you ever get a DTR sticker? Pm me with your address and I'll ship you one!

Rick

What gripes me is the people whose attitude is that the posted speed limit is the minimum acceptable speed that you are supposed to drive.

Many times I hear some jerk griping that "they aren't even going the speed limit, they could at least drive as fast as the limit."

I thought the speed limit was the fastest speed you could travel and not be ticketed; maybe I have it wrong and it is the slowest speed allowable.

Could someone enlighten me, please??

Also, most of the idiots on the road are so deep in debt, and so far behind, that they actually hope that they will tear their new vehicle to smithereens, so they can let the insurance company have their troubles, pretend to be hurt, and sue somebody.

And, don't even get me started on those idiots that fill up my stopping distance at a light, instead of hanging back and showing some manners.

I see your point about the speed limit, but it is typically a good guide for the speed to travel..... I get annoyed with people that drive 25 mph on a state road with a 55mph limit on a sunny day with nothing but cornfields around.

but hey..... whatever makes them happy....

I was taking my family to charelston to the In-laws this weekend for christmass. It was pouring down rain so hard I could not see the end of the hood in my wifes durango then suddnly some kid (16-22) flew by me like I was going backwards. I was going 65 in a 70 in the rain and this guy was going atleast 90. We saw at least 5 single car accidents in that 200 mile trip alone.

Every mathmatician knows that a limit can be approched from either direction. Some choose to approach the limit from the low side, some approach from the high side. but the whole idea is to approach that limit.
