Amazon scam

Had a phone call from someone claiming to be from Amazon customer service asking if I had made a $1600 purchase. 1st clue, no caller ID, 2nd clue, this person had a heavy India accent, 3rd clue, he did not give an exact amount. And 4th clue. he did not say what the charge was for. All that screamed scam, so I led him down the yellow brick road. He kept asking for personal and bank information so he could "cancel the charges", so I kept leading him on for several minutes. Then, when he started getting hostile, I told him to hang on a second. Then I said do you have it? like I was talking to someone else. Then I said I know where and who you are, the time in New Delhi India is.... He immediately hung up. Of course, I then checked my Amazon account and bank account for unauthorized orders and charges, but there were none. I changed my passwords anyway just to be safe. How this person knew my full name including middle, my unlisted unpublished cell phone number, and that I even had an Amazon account has me curious.

Because they suck.

People spend all of this time cheating, stealing and producing nothing but profit for themselves, when they could (in theory) be doing something productive for society.

I closed my Amazon account, Paypal account, and very rarely do I buy online other than a few truck parts. I do everything humanly possible to buy locally, as this globalist thing is the future death of this great nation of ours. I had my Ebay account stolen once as well, although I still have the ebay account because I double verify each time I use it.

You can set up your accounts so they have to double verify who you are each time you use it. Yes it's a pain because they text you a code, and you then have to put the code in before you can sign in, or purchase anything. If they text you to your phone, it's difficult for someone to fraudulently access your account, as they would need that code. I guess if you open up any pfishing texts or emails, they can take control of your phone, but this is why when I don't know who is sending me something, it gets blocked and deleted BEFORE opening it up.

I have, I also change my passwords regularly along with deleting any credit card information they store. Got another call about my Amazon account. I strung him along a few minutes. Then told him I have broken his number spoofing software and back traced his number and notified Interpol. He hung up.

It's not Amazon, it's these scammers. I get a lot of scam attempts for different things. Most of them are obvious when they try to scam be on something I have no connection with. I believe most of it is just random phishing. In my case, they go my phone number from an add I placed then they guessed I had an Amazon account. I also get calls or emails about a bank account I do not have. Attempt to collect a debt I don't have and so on.
