I live north from G. Shores about 30 miles-Bay Minette. Gulf Shores is still nice but last years Hurricanes really took its toll. Spend many, many days down there especially spring breaks. I still think that it is a well kept secret. Most folks don't know just how nice it really is. Where did you set up camp at?? We went down last weekend and set the camper up at the Gulf State Park. It sort sucks now also-all due to the 'Canes.

Here is something you gotta do before heading home. Go up Hwy 59 to Foley (Where the big Tanger Outlet Mall is) at one of the intersections is a big restaurant on the right hand side called Lamberts. GO THERE!!!! You won't be disappointed. Hell, might even see you there. They are the home of the throwed rolls. The waiters or whatever they call the guy with the rolls actually throws them to you from across the restaurant.

I've been there a few times, great beaches. the only place I have been to that when you run, the sand 'squacks' at you, because of some mineral in the sand. I agree with the other guy, it is a very well kept secret. good fishing, too
Ahhhh "The Redneck Rivera"! I was down there about 4 years ago on a family vacation. Nice place great golf courses! If you have time go over to Mobile and go through the WW2 Battleship and submarine they gave me a new respect for our WW2 Vets!
Not sure. Now one of the best places to go eat and have a blast is LuLu's. This is Jimmy Buffet's sisters joint right on the Intracoastal Waterway off the Hwy 59 bridge. Pretty amazing joint. Good food and loud music.

Oh I know LuLus....Thats where I met your CG pals....
It was so strange going to eat at places like Nolans, the Steamer, BJs, etc..Then going back the next year and they were either gone or closed due to Ivan...Then Dennis and Katrina didnt help, but most of the damage was from Ivan....
We left 3 days before Ivan hit, then last year we had to change our accomodations cause Katrina put 4 feet of sand under the house where we were supposed to stay....Had to lay on a new plan in 5 days time
