Active Shooter in Las Vegas

While you were sleeping,
more than 50 dead and over 200 injured.

Active Shooter in Las Vegas.
This is crazy,
Prayers for all of the dead and injured.

When the public are running out, the police are running into the firefight.

Bat S... Crazy
From almost a 1/4 mile away and 32 stories up.
News now reporting this nut-job's name and his rabid Anti-Right political stance.

http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/na...449027733.html

He was a "lone-wolf" with what sounded like a full-auto firearm according to reports.

Without knowing more, maybe nothing. I can find photos that prove Obama refuses to salute the flag, too, but I think it's obvious that timing is everything.

From what VERY LITTLE I've gathered so far (I refuse to listen to "up-to-the-minute" "reporting"*), this wasn't sniper fire, but hitting a crowd from long range. Even if this was during the active shooting, the dude on the phone is probably just as safe as anyone else in the area.

*Our reporting here has the Undersheriff taking credit for the cops killing the shooter before the facts come out that he committed suicide before they got there. But being from here, I expected that.

Still looking for reliable reports on that, too. If one is firing into a crowd, one need not take time to aim between shots.

I know which way I'm betting.

It should be noted that the victims are disarmed at these events.

If you were listening to the scanner traffic as it happened you would hear after the room was breached they called we have one suspect down.

My first thought was to say: "What does that have to do with the Undersheriff reporting that they shot the suspect, and later reports confirming that he shot himself?"

But now I'm seeing that you are agreeing with me. The early reports aren't worth listening to.

My question is how can this shooter buy so many weapons and no red flag goes up? Unless he is gun dealer there should be no way on earth he should be allowed to buy that many weapons. The FBI should have been knocking on his door to find out why.

I defy anyone who has heard a belt fed heavy weapon say that wasn't what they heard.

Something isn't right with this one.

Do we have our next Lee Harvey Oswald?

LOL, I bought 6 AR15s a year or so ago at a whack ( got a good deal ). There is no way to hire enough agents to both do their real job and also to chase vaopr trails.

His "arsenal" wouldn't make a good day at he range for us.

Some people collect stamps. Some of us collect guns. Depressing that a grown man has a problem with it.

I fired a privately owned belt-fed M1919 just last week, along with a few choice submachine guns. We have a monthly subgun match here in Las Vegas; and we bring out the belt-feds at least once a year. BTW, "Heavy" implies a .50-cal.

I'm still waiting for reliable reports as to the weapons involved, and the possible modifications to them. Video is a poor witness for analyzing audio/concussion patterns.

Especially with the possibility of trigger actuators and bump-firing stocks, I'm still laying odds nothing was illegal. I've heard enough news reports in my life to ignore everything for a week.

I'm probably the bad guy for even acknowledging the possibility that most of the deaths and injuries were panic tramplings. An English longbowman could probably do the same damage, though Hillary would ask for a law that makes them loud.
