Aaawwww......how cute!
Went to a bow shoot today and what did I come across?.......a fresh fawn. Just had to take a couple of pictures of it. Too cute! I sent the pics to my wife and kids and they all thought we should keep it for a pet! I said......really now......you won't even let us have a DOG! We left it alone, and as we left saw momma coming back to check up on it. Here's a couple of pics that I just thought I'd share.
i know a guy that kept a fawn as a pet. it's mother had been hit by a car and he decided to raise it. that thing would jump up on the couch and watch t.v with him, just like a dog would
I raised one. The first day I went to a local farm and got
some goat milk. Next day I went back to farm and told
them I needed there goat to take home. They are a very
spooky animal she would follow me anywhere, but if anyone
came in the barn she would run away. I never took her
in house, if she got spooked she would have went threw
a window to get out.

We raised a doe fawn at the house when I was younger. Dad hit it with the hay cutter while mowing some haygrazer. Just caught it's hind end with the wheel, but bad enough it couldn't walk. We nursed it back to health and hung around just like a pet.
Woke up one morning with an 8 point buck standing in the front yard that took off chasing our "pet". He must have caught her, because a while later she had a pair of fawns. She lost the doe somewhere, but saved the buck. Definitely don't recommend keeping the buck around as a pet. He was playful, but he didn't know when to stop...especially when he grew antlers. And she was a pretty touchy mama as well. You definitely didn't go near her young ones until she was ready to let you. We saw her raise up a couple of times swinging her front hooves.
Not sure what happened to both of them, although I have a feeling they both ended up on the wrong end of our neighbors gun...though he'd never admit it.

My dad raised one and he said it was just like a dog. It was house trained he said it would go to the door everytime it needed to go and came back to the door when it wanted back in. He also said it would sleep in the bed with him if he would let her. He still always says that doe was the best pet he ever had.
My uncle raised a few of them over the years, usually they were ones that he hit while cutting hay, he'd bring them to the house and nurse them back to health, keep them around until they were almost grown and wouldn't stay in the fence at the house, then he'd take them to a wildlife preserve that was up the road a little ways. They sure were fun to play with, almost like big dogs with hooves.
It was interesting to see their behavior patterns as they grew up.
Also, a good lesson in that nothing will stop a buck when it's in rut. When one of the first bucks got after our doe, she ran back to the house and was trying to find a place to hide around the carport. The buck followed her all around the house and barns, places you'd never see him normally considering the amount of human activity around.
