69 Chevy C20 / Old Chevy Owners

Hey guys,

Wanted to see if there were any old chevy truck owners on here. I bought the attached original 69 C29 CST w/ 65k miles last year and wondering if I should get rid of it.

It has been in my garage and it is fun to drive around... when there is no snow, but don't really need another truck. Bought because it was clean and good deal, but now looking at the option of selling.

I don't need the money, but wouldn't mind having some extra coin to put down for other investments, but the market is down so assuming demand is down. My thoughts were park it for another 10 years or so and then look at it again... but still feeling it out.

Anybody want to weigh in? I am lucky that I am in this position, but just want to get the input of other gearheads.

Thanks,

Wow, I'd hang onto it, or offer you some money for it if I had any right now.

Those are the best looking pickups ever made in my opinion. Don't get me started on all the rigs and rods I wish I still had.

That is really clean looking from the pics. What engine?

Huh - who knew that Chev used to use Alpine as stock radios...

Very sweet ride. I would hold on to it myself.

I bought a 1971 C10 short step side back in 1994 and sold it 99. I bought it and sold it for $500. I needed a daily college commuter and the reliability and fuel mileage was killing me driving 200 miles a week at 10 mpg and spending every other weekend working on it.

Personally, a truck like that, I would antique tag it, put collector car insurance on it, and take the wife to Sonic every couple weeks.

Motor is the original 350 with 400 trans.

I have the original warranty and vender stamped metal tab as well. Yeah the Alpine is aftermarket but works well. I do have box of original radios, the original distributor, an addtional intake manifold and carb.

We'll see... I don't want to look back in a couple of years and kick myself. When the economy turns around I think folks will start looking at hobbies again.

Thanks,

SR

Didn't notice the Alpine, looks like the same one I had in my GTO .

If your interested I still have a brand new Alpine graphic EQ that matches that deck! Wish I still had the GTO!
