Be careful with NADA, you must read the factory inclusions closely to be sure what is an option or standard.

I have found (lately) that NADA is high on most RV values. If it were me, I would look at some comparable sales too, maybe completed EBay listings, maybe some of the ones on the RV classifeds that aren't going anywhwere with over market value pricing.

In a trade situation, I would push for wholesale or super low retail.

Who trades a camper in on a HOUSE? You're really wheelin & deal'n out there!

Oh it gets even better! I have to buy the RV to get his 2006 H3 Hummer! The H3 was used as collateral to buy the 5er. Both have a loan balance of $22K. So if I take the deal I get the H3 & the 05 Jayco 28.5'. The 5er is worth $18K so basically I get $25K - 30K towards the purchase of the $289K house. 10% down and I carry the balance at 8%.

In this market you have to be a wheeler dealer. I'll even take chickens in on trade.

When the going gets tough, the tough get going.

It's a figure of speech, I use it frequently, as in, I am to good to even use the bathroom in or on a particular item. (joke)

Let us know how this pans out, you've got me curious now.

Reminds me of the joke about the young rooster! Good luck with your trading.

I used mine as an example this morning.

I paid $18K even in early August, its average retail today was $19,600. That is right at 10%, these things drop like a rock though, so I would expect that it was about 20K when I paid 18 (still 10%).

I think there are other examples out there that are further off, maybe some closer. I also don't think NADA is as accurate in the realm of region either. Meaning, there aren't enough RV's sold in Lincoln (example) for them to accurately figure the regional difference (as in, they are worth more in South Carolina than Erie, PA.)

Do a search over on www.rv.net there is always someone they’re trying to decide weather they are getting (got) a good deal.

What's the NADA telling you?
Did you see that 98% of the "options" are already factory standard equipment anyway?

Give me the specifics, I'll beat it down to a fair market value.

Where you looking at the NADA low market value on yours or the high market value?

The one I'm looking at is a 2005 Jayco 28.5 RLS W/12' slide out, central furnace, grill, elec front jacks, aluminum sides (1 small mark / dent 3 feet long. just a crease, not into the paint).

I come up with $18K - $22K

No interest in the camper huh? We have had a blast with ours so far!

Sounds like the buyer made the right move, out of depreciating items and into a real investment.
