4BT in a Jeep, transmissions???

I know this has been discussed a little bit before, but the search won't let me search for 4bt, and nothing comes up with cummins jeep. So, I apologize if this is repetitive.

My dad is seriously thinking about putting a 4bt in a early 90's Jeep Wrangler, he wants it mostly for milage, but it will also serve as a killer residential truck for plowing. I have already found out that they are most common in old step vans, but I am concerned about a transmission. Since it is going in a jeep, I can't really see using a really long, full size tranny on such a short wheel base. I was thining of an original wrangler tranny, like a 32RH or even 46 RH, and have Dave Goerend go through it and beef it up (if he would, I still have to call him tomorrow). It certainly needs overdrive, and since it won't be hot rodded around I think that it could hold up to it. I figure T case and axles would be fine, too. Just getting the tranny to bolt up to the motor will be the challenge. Anyone know of some adaptors available? Any recommendations on a tranny? Dad wants me to get all the info together and do a fake price list to see what we're looking at. I figured this is the place to go!
