~$4000 - Lifetime plans cover everything for the life of the vehicle? no diesel

was talking to a friend who works at a Dodge dealer, said they sell the lifetime plan for around $4k, and it covers everything (except wear items) for as long as you own it.

do any of you have real life experience with that?
that's' an awesome bargain....maybe?

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do Lifetime plans cover everything for the life of the vehicle?

A: Lifetime plans provide mechanical repairs for the covered components listed in your personalized plan provisions, but they do not include wear items like brakes or tires. Non-mechanical benefits like first day rental, rental allowance, roadside assistance, towing allowance and trip interruption benefits expire at 7 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. Lifetime plans cover only for the original owner; they are not transferable unless required by state law.

Mopar Lifetime Extended Warranty - Backed by Chrysler.

LIFETIME MEANS LIFETIME

Chrysler is the first and only automaker that offers a Lifetime warranty with unlimited mileage. That means that your vehicle will be covered for as long as you own it. Mopar Vehicle Protection plans with lifetime coverage are also offered in three coverage levels, Powertrain Care, Added Care and Maximum Care. A Lifetime Maximum Care plan, with it´s bumper to bumper coverage, is probably the best value in the industry. Spend a few minutes on this page and browse through the information below to learn more about lifetime plans.

aha, here is the kicker:
There are many catches.
First, no SRT vehicles are eligible… you know why.
Second, no diesel.
Third, the car must be within 36 months and 36,000 miles of its in-service date for lifetime bumper-to-bumpe
r.
These warranties aren’t cheap. I’ve seen quotes as high as $3,700 and $3,900. I’ve also seen them dip into the low $2,000s.

Lifetime means lifetime, unless of course you go bankrupt.

My buddy the Dodge dealer sold several of those packages, heck I was on the fence about buying a car just so I was eligible for the warranty ( you have to admit, never ever have to fix your recalcitrant junk again? ) Anyway, fast forward a year and those "lifetime" warranties vaporized.

Yea, there were quite a few folks around here not real happy with Chrysler.

Buyer beware.

I have a 2007 Chrysler Aspen I purchased for my Wife, it has the lifetime warranty. It has to be looked over by Chrysler every 5 yrs to keep the warranty...they make sure the proper maintenance is kept up on it.

I haven't needed to use it yet, so I don't know for sure just how well they will honor it once I do.

I would be interested in knowing, around here all the purchasers got a letter from Chrysler saying it was no longer valid after the bankruptcy.

Lots of ticked off owners........

For grins, have you taken it in for the 5 year checkup?
