Just took a few minutes to go back and read a few posts. Hate to read about all the problems so many are having. Sometimes life seems so unfair. There are times when that saying 'The good die young" appears to be all too true. When I read about the suffering that so many are unfairly going thru, it makes me count my blessings over and over. Then I wonder why I am so blessed and others are not.
Going to go to bed soon and think long and hard about how fortunate I am compared to others. Many times I wonder why I am still here considering some of the stupid things I have done and survived.

evening all..
got a new roof on the house.
done a visual search around the house and found maybe a dozen nails in the yard. None in the driveway or alley. My wife said they spent two hours out with the roller magnet going over the alley and driveway.

Morning.

Went to our first event of the season yesterday afternoon with the trailer and 'new' truck. The truck doesn't know the trailer is back there. BIG difference from the old one!

Today is Friday, May 6th.

Just think... only 2 more days 'til MONDAY!

On this day in 1861 - Arkansas became the ninth state to secede from the Union.

1877 - Chief Crazy Horse surrendered to U.S. troops in Nebraska.

1937 - The German airship Hindenburg crashed and burned in Lakehurst, NJ. Thirty-six people (of the 97 on board) were killed.

1941 - Joseph Stalin assumed the Soviet premiership.

1941 - Bob Hope gave his first USO show at California's March Field.

1942 - During World War II, the Japanese seized control of the Philippines. About 15,000 Americans and Filipinos on Corregidor surrendered to the Japanese.

1945 - Axis Sally made her final propaganda broadcast to Allied troops.

1960 - U.S. President Eisenhower signed the Civil Rights Act of 1960.

1962 - The first nuclear warhead was fired from the Polaris submarine.

1981 - A jury of international architects and sculptors unanimously selected Maya Ying Lin's entry for the design of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

1994 - The Chunnel officially opened. The tunnel under the English Channel links England and France.

1994 - Former Arkansas state worker Paula Jones filed suit against U.S. President Clinton. The case alleged that he had sexually harassed her in 1991.

1997 - Army Staff Sgt. Delmar G. Simpson was sentenced to 25 years in prison for raping six trainees at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
If the universe is expanding, what is it expanding into?

Coffee & ph00 is ready. Drink it ONLY! Do not alter it, play with it, censor it, add or subtract substances or otherwise mess around with it. I'm not in the mood to listen to old people whine today!

Hey Scott, that's an impressive looking setup. What goes on the bed of the truck? Very classy and right in step with your purpose. I like it.

Another busy day today. So, make this short and go after it. Gotta see a bunch of progress over the next two days. Grabbing my ph00 and out of here. Thanks for the good ph00 - - quite good. ........

Morning,

Looking good Scott. Little wet this morning. Hope we're getting some up north. Kinda dry up there the other day. Took the brothers new pontoon out last night and broke in some new gear. Fish didn't feel like indulging us though.

It's kind of a multi-purpose truck/bed. When we're hauling the trailer long distances, we use the bed to haul the Jeep so we have some way of getting around when we get to where we're going without using the big truck. Around the farm I use it to haul sawdust and hay for the horses. (I have 4' tall sides for it and it dumps) I also use the truck as a sort of mobile welding rig. The welder is on the right side of the truck, under the bed on a slide frame that allows it to slide out clear of the body so air can get to it when it's running. Oh, and the sleeper is for Jake.

It IS a big difference from what it started out life as;

Thanks Don. Wish some of this rain would head north, we certainly don't need any more here!

Good morning everybody. Whatever ails you, rise and shine and count your many blessings. Name them, one by one. To start, you are on the right side of the grass.

Scott, that is an impressive looking rig. Congratulations on all your hard work. What is under the tarp in front of the trailer?

Busy day today, so need to get moving. With trepidation, tried the coffee. Hey, it was pretty good for a change. In fact, unless somebody fiddles (that word starts with an 'f' and not a 'p') with it, may even come back for a second cup.

Thanks Stan!

The tarp is actually a piece of sound deadening material that goes over a light-weight, removable frame I put over the 15,000 watt generator. I also pipe the exhaust under the truck to get some more noise away from the trailer. It's always been pretty quiet inside, but for people standing outside it was annoying. That big generator makes big noise! I'd actually like to find another way of making 'quiet'... the whole arrangement, while it serves the intended purpose, looks kinda cheap!

Mornin' all,

Sitting here, feet up, drinking good coffee. reading the trivia of what happened this day. Don't need the reminder of Monday coming up. Haven't even got a good start on Friday.
Old people don't whine, they give opinions on what is happening, gleaned from years of good and bad experience.
Chiakwa, nice rig. Good pictures.
Reading what some people are going thru, friends and family problems, like Stan says count our blessings.
It is our daughters 34th birthday today. She has 3 kids. She is also being treated for a very aggressive liver cancer. She don't let it get her down. She and her main squeeze are borrowing the truck today. Get it ready to trailer tow his Dodge Viper to Panama City, FL. Some big meet down there.

Time to gently wake the Prudent Student.

Have a good un, and be safe out there

Davey

Greetings.
I am able to raise a cup of coffee with one hand now.

Scott, cool ride, nicely done. Highly visual in a good way.
I have seen some rigs that have perhaps had too much done to them. You have a good balance there!

Alturd Phoo00 4 awl uv Ewe.

I see the old but friendly Buzzards are perched...always good to see them. I think we need more perches in this room.

Enjoy the day fellow DTRonians.

I took a couple of hours to do some serious reflection on my gratitude list.
Started with a long soak in the hot tub then I sat out on the patio I built last yr and just sat...said a few prayers and meditated. Truly set me into a Peaceful mode and need to do that more often.

Thanks Scotty. It doesn't look bad, but it's 3' over-length.

I don't fully 'see' what I'm going to do initially. I usually get my 'vision' as I go along. That can be an advantage or a curse!

technically x-mark is toro. but the lower end torow models are easier to work on. usually. not a stupid question either. had to have it explained to me at the exmark dealer.

Toro must have higher paid engineers.
