OK, big guy, I am here and grabbing that ph00 - - - ph0ey on that crazy Canuck. ...........................................hmm, not bad, man. Thanks. Hope the never ending wall ends today with a color mama can live with. I finished a "mama" project yesterday with new pedestal planters on each side of the front porch. Have to admit it looks good. Catches your eye when you come around the corner of the sidewalk. Color of plants and planter all match well with the pavers and tile roof. She did good - - yeh.

Off to shoulder guy today - - let's see what is going on in there and see about getting it fixed - - tired of the hurt and unable to do things I love like swing a tennis racket or hit a little white ball. Hate the rehab though, but gotta suck it up.

Heidi on her Harley - - sounds like fun. BE careful.

Refill................................BYE

Bob

Awww, mom - - - you are great. You knew what the little boy would need - - yummy ph00 and some comforting. You are all right, kiddo.

Back from doc - - answer was not good. Shoulder needs replacement. BUT, the elbow is also messed up causing much of the numbness down in the hand. Couple that with the lousy arthritis in my fingers and life hurts right now. He says no hurry, but when I am sick of it, he will set up replacement and elbow surgery both at the same time. Get it over with - - both on the same arm. Oh boy - what to do????? GGGRRRRR. Why? I am way too young for all this stuff. He says probably too many overhead smashes on the tennis court. One tendon is torn completely.

OK, more ph00 - - - more comforting - - more pills. ............

Bobby, I'm sorry to hear this. I've had my share of bumps and bruises, so I can relate... get better quick, brother.

Evenin, all. It's been one of those days, dumb stuff that shouldn't happen in the land of grown ups, but it does. It's a fact of life, but that doesn't mean I like it...

That, and my 8 year old was exposed to racist hate today... that's difficult to explain. I was raised a certain way, but I've tried to overcome that in my adult life, but things like this make it hard.

Back to your regularly scheduled program...

Morning. Woke up way too early. Stupid body, why can't it stay asleep for at least an hour longer?

Lary, thanks for the coffee and grub.

It is almost painful to read the posts here with everybodies aches and pains. Sure makes me appreciate that I do not wake up like that and can do anything physical that I desire. I do not take this lightly and after reading all the woes here, am going to take even more precautions that I do not end up like some of you. No, I am not being sarcastic. Every day I give thanks that I am healthy. Still working on the wealthy and wise parts.

Used about 4 gallons of paint yesterday and this morning will finish re-painting that never ending wall. At least I am now past the bad part with the that blackberry vine (bush?) and the thorny lime trees. Only managed to get jabbed a few times. Those blackberry thorns burn like crazy for hours after they get a good grip on flesh. At one time I was on a short ladder while standing in the middle of the vine and was thinking that if I fell, that the fall would not hurt very much, but I would fall directly on to all those thorns. As usual, I was only wearing shorts and a thin short sleeved shirt.

Hope all of you have a fantastic day, even with aches and pains.

Stan thinking about your blackberry thorns took me back to one of my "Stupid" adolescent moments.....I was around 13 to 15 yrs old and one of my buddies thought it would be a good idea if we "Egged" a couple cars that night.....

My turn came around and knowing what I was about to do was wrong I decided just tossing one egg wouldn't be that big a deal so as I saw the headlights coming my way I let er rip.....

I no more than let go of the egg when I saw the "Cherry" red light on the roof of the patrol car and watched in slow motion as the egg made a perfect arc and blasted the windshield of the Police car

Everybody took off running in different directions and I ran and ended up with the Officers chasing me into a field where I crawled up into a Blackberry Bush and became ensnared and impaled on several hundred thorns

The two Officers looked at me struggling with the thorny vines and decided the mere act of trying to extricate my self from the bushes was Punishment enough for my crime and left me to find a way to free myself

That was the start and end to my juvenile run of criminal behavior and I will never forget the loud laughter of the Officers as they drove away.

Morning Stan - - know the feeling - - been awake since 4:30. I also give thanks every day for being alive and my health. Overall I am in pretty good shape - - just a couple things wearing out a bit except for this nasty arthritis in my hands. Wow, that hurts. You comment about falling into the prickly vine brought back memories - - OUCH. About 10 years old, horseback riding in the Pacific Palisades hills in California by myself and enjoying the scenery. Passing by a huge prickly pear cactus when my horse lurched and pitched me into the middle of the cactus. As I was flying I heard the rattle of a rattle snake that was under the cactus - - that is what spooked the horse. How do you get out of the middle of a cactus with nothing to hold onto, no one to pull you out, every move puts you into more thorns and a rattler waiting for you on the ground? It was not fun and I was a mess. At least my horse waited for me nearby. Not a pleasant memory.

OK, refill............................and on with my day.

Lary and Bob, thanks for the smile your stories brought. That made me remember when I was about 8 or 9 years old and was staying for a weekend at a friends house. They had a big vegetable garden garden surrounded by a low hedge. This hedge was Christ thorn (google it) with zillions of long thorns. Growing out of the middle of hedge at intervals were nice climbing trees. As kids we would often take a jump over the hedge and grab the first branch and climb the tree. As luck would have it, I fell out of the tree and landed flat on my back in middle of the hedge. I still remember the pain!!!! What made it worse was that my friends mother made me strip naked and lay on my belly while she worked on my back, bum and legs, removing the thorns one by one. What humiliation! Then she applied iodine. Oooooooooo!!!! Not sure what was worse, the thorns or the iodine. That was the disinfectant at that time. Later came mercurochrome which did not sting so much.

Hi.
One time camping, about 8-10 yrs old. Offered to go to the river for water. Walked into a patch of nettles. They stuck me everywhere. Then I slipped down the bank and bounced off some rocks into the river. Managed to get some water and when I returned all I was asked it what took me so long.

thorns, cacti, falls, Arthur= group hug with Madhat when he doesn't know it

racism is bitterness at one's own failure to succeed. you can be anything you want. Cassius Clay so sorry Madson that as a parent, you had to walk a fine line of thoughts, take a minute, and then be the father your son needs.

Larry, hehehehheheheheheheheheheh. what a picture!

news this early AM of a grateful passing of my favorite aunt. COPD, now pain free and with her loved ones. God is so merciful. Prayers for the friends that did 24 hour care. Glad I got to write/her hear a letter of my lifelong impact of her character and what I could pass on to others, just the benefits of opportunity. Everyone should have a mischievous, fun, educated aunty!
I was truly Blessed! riding the 1914 American LaFrance fire trucks to get fresh sweet corn into the hot water for the big cookouts, watermelons and lobster in the creek to stay cold. big smiling laughter and trying scary stuff!

Truly a good thread at a great time- thankful.

more soothing comfort for Fiverscissorhands and the Stanimal.

if you read? POST! love to hear what is going on in your world, welcome!
