Remote start

MY 06 came with a remote start which I have never used other than trying it when I bought the truck (it worked). Last winter while the truck was in my shop , the heat was off , it started by itself. I was south for the winter and got the phone call that it had started. . I assumed that the remote start was set to start at a certain temperature and forgot about it. This winter I have the truck here in Arizona and it has started itself three times. I was close by for all three, opened the door and hit the brake pedal which stopped it. I thought I would disable the system but have not found the module. I did find the bypass module called Pats, and unplugged one connector with two wires. Do not know if I have disarmed the system or not. Found the website , www.autoremote.ca but it is blank. I am hoping someone out there has the same system and can give me more info. My remote is back in Balzac and I might have it sent down here but with no owners manual don't think that will help.
Last night 0330 hrs. it not only started but the horn alarm started as well and also woke up several neighbors. Then again at 0530, started and stopped a couple of times. I went out and disconnected the batteries. Today will do a search for the module.
Any help is welcomed.

Now Key on, Check engine light flashing, will not start. Still cannot find remote start module. Connected the 2 wire plug that I disconnected and that's all I get now.

After market remote starters usually have 2 main in line fuses on usually RED thick power wires going to the module. Remote starters also need a brake light signal and that is usually taken from close to the brake switch. You should be able to see where they took power from the brake light sw and follow that wire back to the module. I have never seen one installed under the hood keeping them inside helps protect them, I usually install them close to the steering column then tuck them up and tie them up high after all wiring is complete. Removing the in line fuses should prevent the remote starter from starting the vehicle but allow normal operation. Most experienced installers can tell what is NOT "factory" and will be able to spot it quickly.Just had a thought, you can probably deactivate the remote starter by the hood switch, take the wire off and attach it to ground.
