sigh had way to much fun a few weeks ago and may have cracked a ring won the tug of war though against a newer truck
my truck non ic 1990 auto dully
yes checked breather tube it is clean and surprise the oil cap blows off too !!!! when loosened hissing out breather tube so bad it could pump up a air mattress lol so rebuilds in store sigh
no water in oil could it be a issue with vacuum pump ? I dont think so
butt .....

so what are the chances of
1 the ring not shattering and scoring the cylinder worried that scoring might be to deep to rebuild
2 replacing only one piston 1200 dollars for six new ones up here
too unbalanced ? to try
3 spend money on balancing pistons and rods and crank
4 type of rings best to use and bearings (hastings? )
5 other mods

best parts places in US /Canada for parts truck is in Canada Ontario
looking at $2300 for basic parts up here including pistons and basic rebuild parts beings and seals
should I get a used engine and rebuild that and do weekend swap ? again scoring issues
I will be hauling trailer 6500 lbs on long drives on highway and use daily as work truck
