Lift Question
I want to be able to fit 33's, and i want a smoother ride. I went to a local 4x4 shop and they quoted me $1300 for the Kore leveling system installed. That seems a little high, is it?? Any other suggestions for what i want, thanks

Forget the Kore system, it is nice but lots of $$$s. To just fit 33's a leveling kit would be fine. For the ride put on some good shocks, you would be surprised how much a good set of shocks will change the ride. To get it any smoother you would need to replace the front coils and the rear leafs, and that is also going to cost some $$$'s.

You dont need a lift to clear 33's. You can do it with the stock suspension. IMO running 33's with even a leveling kit would not look good. To much space between the tire and wheel well.

Ahh it just hit me, you said 33's. I had 35's in my mind for some reason. Yeah as stated, no lift is required for 33's but in an off road situation they might rub, but it would take some flex to get them to.

I think I will get some superlift springs and then replace the shocks with Ranchos or Bilsteins, that should give me a better ride, right???

If all you want is a better ride why not just replace the shocks. I had SJ25's on my 01. They were a good ride for a while but after they broke in they sucked. They were to soft. IMO I would start with the shocks. Then if that doesn't help get some custom made springs that cost about the same, but you get to choose the spring rate.

4WD on the service trucks is for negotiating the fields out in the country.
However, it is surprising how much articulation was preserved in the front suspension (the rear, of course, was not an issue). With 3" of travel available, it's very difficult to get one side of the front axle to stuff a tire more than 2" up into the fenderwell in a hard turn - which is the only way they can touch. Steering straight, naturally, the tires aren't able to contact anything but the ground, since the wheelwell is larger than they are.

Thanks for all the input guys, i have narrowed it down to 2 choices. The starter system from Defiant or the Bilstein 5100 systems fro Lorenz. The only difference between the two is on one you get drop blocks and the other you get sway bar end links. Which system is better? Does it really matter??
