Not that most have one with them when they are stuck, but I have used an old tire before between two chains to jerk a large truck out of the mud. You can get slack, nail the throttle, and the tire will stretch and keep from breaking chains or jerking pieces of the vehicle.

So mom can take her kids to soccer practice with a less expensive vehicle. Many yuppies don't need or want 4WD, they just want the SUV look.

FWIW, for some reason, Jeep does not even offer any 2WD models in Canada. I guess they think we wouldn't buy them for some reason.

Liberty

The jeep in the pics is a Liberty limited so it has the limited badges on the door. It is a 4X4 with the same style transfercase as we have with 2Hi, 4Hi and 4Lo.

What sucks is that I am getting my chops busted more then the guy who got stuck by the guys at work beacuse I could not pull him out with my truck. Oh well they all drive 1500 chevys so I think I get the last laugh.

i'm a volunteer firefighter and we have a late 70s mack fire truck. The thing is solid i' not sure how much it weighs. One night we got it stuck in a field (our grass rig was not getting the job done). Well it was stuck pretty good, not burried but still stuck. I pulled it out with my little pick up. I had to use my tow strap and jerk the hell out of it. i launched in 4 hi in first or second i cant remember. i wish i had a video of that. i bet dodge would have made a commercial out of it.

I've had good luck with my little truck pulling folks out. The winch does a good job of pulling folks out. Have yet to bog it down.

This picture was taken after my XJ made it through the mud hole that the CJ beside me didn't ....

Note the water/mud line that starts from the passenger side bumper and goes up over the drivers side hood ... Compliments of the "Gator Pit" in Turkey Bay KY.

Yes, the Mog works. and that's an understatement.

He did get the Mog itself stuck when towing a dead Jeep out, and got into door-deep mud! (Which is to say DEEP, since those are ~43" tires)

of course, the winch pulled them both out, even with the Mog's transmission in REVERSE... That thing is sick.
