Hunting Machine, with pictures!

After years of love, my 1974 CJ5 Jeep has finally called it quits...

...and my new 2009 Megacab was baptized by fire!

I am incredibly impressed with it's off-road capabilities! Not to mention the heater (the Jeep was always a little drafty)!

The Jeep had an amazing run, but I am officially converted to my full-size Dodge!

Man, those were some ruts.

I'm not a jeep fan for the road, but you can't beat them in the bush. Time for a 4bt and some good insulation...

No worries, the Jeep will never be scrapped, we go way too far back! It's just going to have to sit on hold for awhile until enough time and money become available... Needs a frame-up restoration.

The Jeep is one of the last years that a V8 (304) was put on the small wheel base. That engine will never die, but it certainly killed the frame! The frame is broken directly behind the front leaf pack, classic CJ5 problem. Lovin' the potential 4bt idea, someday...

Thanks for sharing the pics. Nice jeep and the dodge looks like it gets the job done too. Only one problem! It looks like you were hunting but where are the Pics of the bed of the truck? We want to see some critters.

Holy crap, my jeep doesn't even have floors (unless mudflaps count), but since it's military, it does have a fully boxed frame Nice pics!

Love the jeep pic. It brings back high school memories of my buddy's '75 CJ-5 (it also had a 304 V8).

I get my Jeep parts from quadratec.com and 4wd.com and they both offer fully boxed mandrel bent steel frames for less than $2K depending on options. They also used to have a tubular frame that could hold up to the torque of a diesel, might still have but not in the catalog anymore.
