If I were you i'd bite the bullet and pay for the 4"...you'll be sure that you can fit your current 35s and you can possibly go bigger when it time for some new ones

good luck man!

Just add a spacer, as long as you have upgraded the shocks (long enough).

You'll also need longer control arms.

Track bar for sure, unless you don't mind one wheel sticking out and the other pushed in. You should probably do a dropped pitman arm also, or go with a crossover steering setup like Don Thuren makes.

It's all about wheel backspacing. In the case of our trucks, more is better.

to help... Here is what I'm doing, 18x9 wheel with 6 or 5.5 inches backspacing, preferably 6. And a 3 inch lift up front and 1.5 in back.

This should keep me safe from rubbing with a 35x12.50 procomp xterrain A/T... Which actually measures 34.8x12.8.

I would take a close look at Thuren's track bar if you plan on lifting it that much... Also, I would look into some better suspension kits, if you actually plan on offroading it. Thuren and carli make great kits, as does Lorenz.

If you are running the XD 775 rockstars you will need at least 4''. I found this out yesterday from Super Duty HQ after i told them i intended to use these wheels with 35s on my Carli lift. He said no go and that i'd get quite a bit of rub. He said i would need to go with a narrower wheel with more backspacing. This is from the same shop that built the Super Duty Presidential limo. They know they're stuff...

i don't know what i am going to do now for wheels...

Well, not exactly. They are right about the 18" wheels, but you can run the 20" Rockstars with 35's on your lift. The 18's don't have the right backspacing/offset.

You are probably right. I did tell them i was planning on the 18'' wheel. I am going to run them anyway with the Nitto Terras that come out to 34.6. I may have a little rub, but oh well. I'll let ya know here in a couple weeks when its all done.

ptgarcia,
are you saying you CAN run 20" Rockstars with the 8.5" width and 35" (in my case Toyo MT) with the Carli suspension?
I'm looking at the Carli Starter Pack with 20x8.5 Black Rockstars and 35x12.5x20 Toyo MT's on my truck.
Everything I've searched out and read on here seems that it can be done and will look pretty good, but I know you the man when it comes to questions of this nature.
So whatcha think?? How will it look and ride? BlackSunShyne is my inspiration. I know he has 4.5" lift, so not sure I will get the same look and performance with the Carli Starter. Because I think they say the Starter Pack will only raise the front 2.75" and the rear 1". Kinda stumped...
Any comments you might have would be appreciated...
Thanks
