Chapter President
Free fuel?
Looks like back in October of 2003, you guys decided who was going to take what roles:
I understand that some of those original members may have fallen away from DTR.
Reasonable attempts should be made to verify that these individuals are no longer interested or able to fulfill their duties to this Chapter.
Upon verification or reasonable attempts exhausted, their roles could then be voted on again.
John P was voted in as VP and should handle the duties and responsibilities therein.
Goodys1ton (Secretary DTR #18)
John_P (Vice President DTR #18)
dwinnett (Trustee DTR #18)

Whether a person is an "official" NC 18 member or not, makes ZERO difference to for me. The only thing that bugs me, is that, us "official members" will now have to share all the free diesel we've been getting as a perk with the newly minted members. As they say, membership has/had it's privileges.

I have to say how much I admire John P for the stand up way in which he is handling this scenario. It is obvious that he wants to help move the chapter forward and none of this is about power or glory.
His dedication toward the chapter and it's current members is absolutely unflappable, his attitude proves he wants to be sure that EVERYONE is aware of what he is trying to do and that he is doing it by the book.
Thanks John, your honesty as always is appreciated and applauded

John and I talked about the whole deal with electing a VP. I swore up and down he was already the VP, but he didn't want to cause a fuss with any members as it might be misconstrued as some sort of power or glory grab. He wanted everyone to have a say, as our first election was sooo long ago and no one could say exactly who was what. So I went down in the DTR basement and file storage area, Viola!
Anyone that knows John would NEVER say he's in it for the glory, he's always looking out for the new guys and fellow diesel truck enthusiast. I think everyone in the Chapter is glad to have John as the VP, he has more than shown his mettle when putting on one of our NC events.
No one person makes a chapter, it's the collective body of individuals (and trucks) that make the chapter great.

Lary and Mike, my sincere thanks to both of you for your kind words!
As I said above, I will contact the above named Members and talk with them about their positions and then I feel we should have that meeting to get all of this finalized.
Thanks again guys!

Wow this is great. Glad JohnP is at the Helm right now. I hope I can become an official member of the chapter before I have to move to Va. Luckily I plan to move back in 2-3 years if the Marine corps lets me.
