Scheid Dyno Numbers

Anybody have a complete list of numbers? How about those who ran both dynos, how did they compare?

Jared:

I will give Dawn a call @ Scheid Diesel (TerreHaute) and see
if she can get them posted here for us. I know that we ran
about 113 trucks on Scheid's Mustang Dyno and David ran
around 60 on his Dynojet. FYI, the stock trucks run pretty
close between the two dynos in H.P., but the torque is
different because of the way the dynos measure it.

Example: We ran a brand new 2005 Ford Excursion with
the 6.0 Power Stroke V-8 and the "TorqShift" Ford Auto
Tranny. On David's Dynojet this new vehicle ran 231 H.P.
On Scheids Mustang Dyno it went 240 H.P.

On the low to moderate powered truck the Mustang is pretty close. Once you step the power up some...the numbers on the Mustang are terrible. Not all Mustangs, just the little one that Scheid has. The double roller type.

I had a customer there that Dyno'd 585 on Davids dyno and then tried the Mustang. It was a no go. It would not even work properly. We go through this every year at the Edge event. Of course this year they got a big, mac daddy Superflow to deal with the high powered trucks.

I ran on both dynos and on the mustang i made 354.5 hp and 1012.1 tq with comp box on 5 and on the dyno jet it made 399.8 hp and 894.5 tq with comp on 5. It would run out of fuel pressure any higher than 5.

Ya know... when I first got my truck I had heard you could turn up the power on them. So I call the local Cummins shop and they stick the mechanic on the phone who proceeded to tell me there was nothing you could do w/ the Dodge Trucks to increase HP or TQ on the Cummins in them....

I never called there again....

Dawn:

Thanks for posting those dyno numbers for everyone!
Sorry to have bothered you yesterday, I know how
busy you guys have been.

Don:

Heh buddy, missed you at the rally. One of these days
maybe I will get to meet you. You seem to be right on the
two dynos, Mustang vs Dynojet. It seemed as though the
higher H.P. trucks we ran did not do as well on the Mustang.
To me, tire slippage seemed to be the biggest factor although
I could be wrong on that.

Take care.

I believe you are correct John. I have noticed this as well in the past few trips. I just like to spin the rollers. Hey John I tried to pm you, but it sent it back saying your box is full.

John,

I could not make the event. Its just not in the budget this year. I did May Madness and Muncie and that all until next season.

I noticed you did not dyno your truck with the new Scheid engine.

His truck was on display inside the building showing off Scheid's twin turbo setup. It did make in the 450s on Scheid's dyno while paying attention to not getting the truck hot EGT wise. We were going to run it on David's dyno on Saturday, but it got too late too fast and didn't work out to get it up there. We'll get it on a dynojet soon though.

I hate to dyno the new 5 speed auto's with the factory speed limiter in place. Just as in the stock X we did, I said I left about 20 hp on the table because it shut down at 2700 rpm. It should peak about 2900. If I can select 4th (like the newer Duramax) then I can get a full run. In those cases I will run it once or twice in each gear.

It just occured to me that the X was not on my list. I believe it did 231hp and 483tq. I would have expected between 250 and 260.

Of course, I am just proud to have finally made it in Banshee's signature.

Were did the big number go to at the event, looks like a little over 600 took the prize or did I miss something.
