MSDTR Chapt. #31 Meet-N-Greet/BB-Q__Decatur, AL 8/5/06

Well, It's that time again to get things rolling and people talking and planning on out next meeting. I propose Aug. 5th or 6th as our next day. We don't seem to have many people interested who are from Nashville, but a few are from around Birmingham. So maybe we should cater to those guys. Just throwing ideas out there guys. Speak up let evryone know what you'd like to do.

I'm from Mount Pleasant area and interested. Have to plan ahead though. Is this meet on Saturdays? I have my kids to watch then, but my boy LOVES Dodge's with the Cummins so it would be fun for him as well!! Let me know, it would be cool to meet face to face with some of you guys and talk tech, hang out.

Well everytime I say I'm in, I wind up not showing up so I'm not going this time. I'm all for a BBQ!! I just had all of my wisdom teeth pulled so I need to catch up on about a weeks worth of food. Location doesn't matter to me.

Wow, seems we have some from Nashville area here. My vote now is for Decatur, AL at Point Mallard Riverside Park along the TN River. Not to far for any of us even the Birmingham guys. However, Smokey from way down in Lowsyanna might think its a bit far this time.

I just checked this place out sounds great, even stuff for the wife and kids. It has a waterpark, ice rink, golf, etc. etc. Here's the link:

ta da.

... and here I am. This is a great idea. I personally know of 3+ more guys in our 4x4 club that would attend (6+ if you count the powersmokers). Say the date and we'll try to be there, I'll pass the word on to the others. Point malard is a good place to hold something like this.

Ok then give our regulars here a few more days, but so far it looks like the 5th of Aug. at about 10AM or so. Bring all the Diesel trucks you can, we promise not to make fun of their inferior choice . I found the idea for the park kinda by accident really just looking through some maps and then Googled it. Turned out to be a great place. Never been there so maybe you could pm some info bout it to me bout the picnic grounds there.

Yeh, a bunch of rednecks standing around admireing the rear of another man's truck . Guess it don't take much to entertain us does it? Well, I'm sure Happy or T-Rad won't mind the location as it's nearly in their backyard. As to Mglass and Dodgeguy Decatur is actually closer to them than our other option this month of Jackson, TN. So i figure we should leve this up for voting one more day then make things definate so I can get things organized and all those who want to attend can make plans as needed.

Scoutman: I know of your club there and actually got to ride around with a few awhile back when I went wheeling up around the Dry Creek/Bruton Br. trail system around Pickwick. Maybe I can trailer my own Heep up there and get some wheelin' time in also.

Jackson is cool with me too. Actually I just walked in the door from a trip to jackson. Met up with some family that drove cross country. Got some good grub and got to hang out for a while. Has anyone ever tried Tri-Tip? It is a certain cut of meat that they are startin to come across back here. It's a hugh chunk of meat that is awesome. If we grill out I'll try to come by some.

Hey guys,

Sorry I am late. You know I am up for this one. I will be away from the computer till next Monday. I am down in South GA right now, leaving in the morning with my old church for a youth trip to Pigeon Forge, TN.

i think I saw 8/5 as the date, but as it gets closer I will ask again. haha.

We gonna do any kind of wrenching at this session? I want to get that Banks crap off my truck. It defuels at 22.5 psi no matter what you do. That has got to go. It gets to around 1050 degrees on a long leg stretch run, but 22.5 psi is it. I know it wants more, cause I can feel it surging.

just got to decide what to get to replace it. Any ideas? I was hoping Bob Wagner would have the new SMARTY out by now so I caould get it and run it by itself to see where it might lack and then get something depending on that. Tranny upgrades are in mind, but I want to get the fueling setup ready to go on. What are yalls on opinions on the TST stuff? Which one would be the best? I am sniping a BDPP now. hehe

Maybe I can coerce DMAX to help me drop in a set of injectors one weekend for some cool semi-alcoholic beverages..

You guys seen where I was talking about al the crap that has been happening to my truck right??? Brother broke out the back glass last weekend, and hit a deer Friday night. I am like what NEXT??????????????

Replaced the solid back glass with a slider. That took $350 fromm the built tranny fund. Then the deer, well, I worked 8 hours at my shop back home in GA and got it to the point that you have to look hard to see anything; except the busted fog light.

Well, you guys hold it down, I will holler at yah later.

Happy out...
