Hey Chris, how do you like your Jetta? Me and the wife went and looked at a few tonight, suprisingly she didn't even want to look at the gassers, she wants a TDI. The dealer had 10-12 new 2006 TDIs on the lot, and they all had about a $4,000 dollar mark-up over sticker. I guess they figure since there won't be an 07 TDI they will mark-up the last of the 06s.

I bought mine in July and saw some of those markups back then. I bought mine under MSRP, and saw a few USED ones with low miles at other dealers that were priced $4k over what I bought mine for.
I bought the 5-speed rather than the DSG 6-speed. The DSG (an automatic shifting, manual transmission) was a $2k option. I also got a Package 1 car for the Satellite radio; I didn't see any utility in spending even more for the additional comfort items and color in-dash GPS of the Package 2 cars.

Sorry you missed it Joe, but it was pretty uneventful. We did complete the injectors in 2 hours (the engine didn't even cool down completely). Although we now have several folks who know how to do it and what is involved. Thanks to all for your help.
Just in case you are monitoring Justin, love the injectors Just enough to know they're there, but not over powering (meaning I think the trans will hold for a while, or at least I hope ). Remind me next time we get together and I'll give you what I owe you.

Sea - Glad you like the injectors and sorry I couldn't make it down. But that's probably good cause you didn't have someone to break any bolts or lights!
Run the injectors for a while and see how they treat you temp and economy wise. With those fancy digital gages you should really be able to monitor the differences. I especially am interested in the performance vs. your buddy's PS.
The 1.6s are doing pretty good for me. Initially I didn't notice much of a difference. I would say that that opinion has changed. It really depends on how I roll into the throttle but I have a fair amount of extra "go". Smoke seems up a bit and economy is up too. Of course, I need to put some pants on and just tap the VP wire again...
Do you think the wife will notice the change??

As long as someone helps clean it (yes my boat is as clean as my truck) then I don't mind fishing out of my boat. I have snap in carpet with full fiberglass liner. I even have two rod holders for trolling. I've got 4 trolling rods, and about the same large casting rods, but not a lot of tackle. So I'm in, tell me when.
Spent today cutting off the shrinkwrap and stuff. She fired up like it was mid-summer. Next Sunday I'm spending the day puttin' a little more umph into the stereo, then I'll be ready.
I did spend a little time with the can of engine degreaser today too since you all got my engine so dirty....she's sparklin' like new again though.
