Sounds like we may have a better crowd here this year. Should be alot of fun.
John, you know that time of year it should not be that cold for them to close the track.

Wayne:

Yeah, I am hoping it stays warm enough to where they
do not close the track. That way we can each just pay
the $15.00 entry fee to race like they normally do on
"test and tune" days. Heck it will be fun for all of
us to "whip" some of the rice burners that are always
out there!

------------
I have received a couple of e-mails about the cost of the
dyno runs. Wayne has set the following prices for the
dyno runs on Saturday December 4, 2004:

Two (2) runs for $40.00
Three (3) runs for $60.00

Here is the address and phone number for you and
anyone else who needs it of the "Holiday Inn Express"
which you stayed in last year. Tell them you are with the
"Diesel Truck Resource" Group.

Holiday Inn Express
2115 Highway 17 North
Jacksonville, N.C. 28546
(910) 347-1900

I also checked on a couple of other motels near the
Holiday Inn. The "InnKeeper Inn" is almost right across
the street from the Holiday Inn. I spoke with one of the
managers there (Jeanette) and she quoted me an event
price of $59.00 which I thought was good. Here is their
address and phone number for anyone who needs it:

The Innkeeper Inn
2139 N. Marine Blvd.
Jacksonville, N.C. 28546
(910) 938-0800

The last one I went to was a new "Comfort Suites".
Their daily rate is higher @ $94.95 but the Manager
their (Kristy Johnson) said that if ten (10) people
from our group would stay there the rate would
drop to $64.95 per night. Here is the info on this one:

Comfort Suites
130 Workshop Lane
Jacksonville, N.C. 28546
(910) 346-8900

I can check on some more motels if you need me to.
Just let us know.

Welcome back "original Junior" Hope to see you at this event.
I myself am looking forward to having a gathering in my backyard. I am going to try to recruit some trucks from New River. There are so many new ones it isn't even funny.

Mrs Smurf here,

Haven't dodge any incoming in a day! Rockets and mortars fell outside of our base early this morning. Each day becomes a new challenge. For the better part of the day, I have one of the best bunkers! So, I am pretty safe!

I will be looking forward to the video of this event. It should be good show, seems to me that the word of mouth worked pretty good. Chris will have to pullup the flyer from last yr and tweet it some. I'll have to bribe Geoff to have him take off the day to run my truck down the track for his MOM.

I'll keep looking at the site when our internet is up. We are down and up quite a bit with opsec, don't want word to leak out to the bad guys. Thank goodness for the right enough electoral votes and we will still have a miltary that will stand tall and proud. VOTING works...... I should know, I am the Voting Officer as well.

Dennis as for camp grounds, Cabin Creek is west on Hwy 17 South, about 15-20 miles away. Chris, John_P there is a small camp ground west on Hwy 24/258 split before you get into Richlands, by riding stables. I can't remember the name of the place, that one may be closer than the other.

Keep on posting good info and spreading the news about this event. Each year the amount of trucks in NC grows. Keep up the great work. Can't wait to get home and play with the trucks and tractors. I will mention, I have the greatest husband anyone could ask for. He's put up with my crazy ideas for 20 yrs.

Take care, see every one in March.

Leigh

Leigh,

Great to see your smiling face here Well you know what I mean Keep your head down and thanks for all you are doing in Iraq.

Lot's of bickering going on this country lately because of the elections, but you would be very hard pressed to actually find some one who doesn't support what you and the troops are actually doing.

Please pass on our collective love to all the people you work with, America loves each and everyone of you!!!

God Bless and hope to see you home soon

Hello All
That was a nice surprise hearing from Leigh. I did notice that even with her half the world away she is still on top of things. I to am going to brag a bit, it's nice being married to a gal who likes Diesel trucks, racing and such.
I will get into the computer and try and find the flyer from last year. If I can find it I will change a few things and print off a bunch. I have been talking about it with the young Marines that I work with. When I tell them there will be a few Diesels there that will be running in the 12 second range. Two of the fastest Chevys on the east coast will be there to take on the Dodges.

Take care
See Ya
Chris

Chris:

Call me when you get that flyer together. "National Dodge"
will help us out with the copies again and we can take them
to the dealers like we did last year in adddition to putting
them on every diesel truck we see in Jacksonville!

----------
gdh:

At this time you don't need to pre-pay on anything. Wayne
will charge the members that want to run on the dyno
according to how many runs etc. as listed above. As far
as the drag strip, we are hoping the weather stays a little
warmer until AFTER our rally. That way, we can each just
pay the regular $15.00 "test and tune" admission and not
have to worry about the track rental fee should the track
close because of cold weather.
