Wayne, some run large pipe/ducts off our exhausts to the outside. Other then that maybe a 36" or 48" box fans. You do have covers on your keyboard and computer dont you? See you soon. Tim

Chris:

Your times for dinner at "Hooters" on Friday night sounds
good; 6:00-6:30 P.M. We will be there!! I told Dennis I
would contact him at the campground on Friday and Tim
said he will call me via cellphone when he gets in. So,....
lets plan on everybody meeting there!

-----------
Wayne:

You asked about how the other shops remove all the
diesel smoke/soot. ATS Diesel Performance (Denver, Colo.)
and TST Products (Colombus, Ind.) have pretty elaborate
smoke removal systems routing the smoke through actual
metal duct work and then to an exhaust fan outside the
building. I have to wonder what that would cost though!!
You can call Clint Cannon at ATS (1-800-949-6002) or Mark
Chapple @ TST (812) 342-6741 and I know they would be
glad to give you details on their systems. One thing I really
like is the fact that my two diesel trucks don't put out much
black smoke!!

John,
Did you put some sort of industrial cleaner/scrubber on your exhaust tips?
Just like the big stacks at major companies that produce lots of emissions in the form of smoke, their stacks have the systems that keep the harmful things out of the atmosphere.

Eskimo-

Come on now jacksonville isn't that far from home, you could make it back in no time. Besides I only live 45 min from Jax and if we start your installs (plate+GSK) early sunday we can still make it to the track before the gates open. You want to test your truck out on the track (the legal way ) You could always say that your truck broke and you were fixing it. You wouldn't be lying you are fixing what dodge did wrong

I have checked into some of those MEGA volume exhaust vent systems and boy are they pround of them. For this year we'll just do the fan thing again and next year I'll try and have a better exhaust plan.
A man whose son is coming to the event this weekend called me last night and asked if he could come and take pictures. He has digital equipment that he will bring with him. I told him it was fine with me. He says he can do all kinds of stuff with the pictures.

He also asked me if it would be OK to take some pictures at the track as well, I told him that DTR had no problem with that at all.

Some of you guys may be able to get some nice pictures of your trucks in action he will be printing them out right on the spot.

Tom:

No, I don't use any "industrial cleaner/scrubber" on my
5" chrome exhaust tips!! Usually just "Windex"
and if they are really nasty some "Soft Scrub" and water.
Surprisingly, they have stayed pretty shiny the last few
years.

I think Tom was refering to the "air and exhaust scrubbers" like we use on the smoke stacks and fume removal stacks at the plant where I work. Ya know,,, the filtering-like-thingies that take all the particles and yucky stuff and turn it into colorless, oderless, make the tree-huggers smile "Happy Air".

I'll bet John P. is the only one who has a fourteen foot long bottle brush for cleaning out the inside of his 4 inch exhaust from the tip to the turbo!

Well, I'm still at the pit so it don't look like I'll make this event. This junk still isn't up on line and I've worked for 12 days straight now. Youn's have a good time.

Thanks Andy
I printed it off and it will be going with me in the morning. Thanks for getting that information. It sounds pretty straight forward, I will also be taking a calculator.
Sorry to hear about the storm, hopefully this will be the only one.
Have a merry Christmas and be careful now that the slippery season is upon you folk up in the Great White North.
See Ya

Hello
We dynoed 16 trucks on the 4th. Either John or I will have to post the numbers tonight after we get done RACING.

We will all be out at Coastal Plains Raceway Park today at NOON.
It is suppose to be another Beautiful day.

There will be a 711 Hp Duramax out there that will attempt to make a under 12 second run in the 1/4 mile. I seen him do it down in Altanta, that thing is fast

See Ya at the Drag strip.
Chris
