I hate to say but they have really cracked down on the event. When I was in college, it was out of control.

Cops every 1/8 of a mile, alcohol sniffing dogs, etc. A few years ago a person could shut down the street by taco bell for burnouts. That was all I went for, I could care less about the actual cruise, I mean it's cool but the reckless abandonement is what I went for!

What is the midnight drag at Rogersville? I went to Midnight Madness in St. Louis a couple weeks ago now that was awesome!

Branson invites everybody down so they can get their yearly revenue off of them on cruise night. They started that about 4 years ago. I use to go every year but I don't place it near as high on my priority list anymore. They could at least mark off some spots on the strip and make legal spots for burnouts instead of boring everyone to tears. I never really went to watch the shade tree shiners cruise the road anyway. Alot of Springfield's faster street racing crowd use to go down and everyone had a good time. Wasn't unusual to see some local 9 second cars cruising around town.

I couldn't have said it better myself. They told us last year that they raise the fine for burnouts by $150 or up to $150. The cops didn't think much of the 9 second cars cruising. They use to burnout in front of Walmart, talk about a show!
